Medics (VBCW and more!)

I finally painted these 3 figures. They are Foundry 28mm from the set "Dumping the body!". However I intend to use them as VBCW figures. In fact they are painted as normal VBCW figures (with no particular uniform with the intention that they can be used by any side.  I am not sure why I purchased them originally maybe I was thinking of a grave robbing game (I know that was a plan years ago).  But now they shall function as VBCW medics. No that is not the best way to move a wounded person, before anyone says, but at least it will get them out of the area of firing so they should not be hit AGAIN!

Additionally I found this dead body. so I thought it only right to paint it at the same time. While I do not at this moment have a use for the figure I am sure that in the goodness of time a reason of its painting  will some to mind. I thought it might be best floating in the water as being a little different to just lying on a grassy knoll not least because I had a bottle of unopened GLOSS varnish I was eager to try.
Now all I need is a water filled area, maybe a Victorian docks, in which to leave the stiff!

SECRET PROJECT no 2)

I also needed to make some flying bases. Mostly for Aeronef. Obviously the helicopter is NOT aeronef related so I shall talk more of that another time. To get the 6mm (1/300th scale )Helicopter "right" I shall need to finish the base. I will also need to cut the rotor disc more accurately. But the ideas work fine I just need to execute them better, so expect that to be done soon! When I say soon It all relates to a pre-order I have made with Brigade Models for pick up on Sunday at the Broadside show. I have some pre-orders already in place but most of my spendz will come down to what money I have once I sell a few things. But we can save that for a show report on Monday and a LOOT haul report on (I hope) Sunday night.

Until then take care have fun and paint and game  as much as you are able.

    1. Thank you Dave. The Helicopter is for a secret project (No:2) so I have n deadline and as such have PLENTY of time to get it right!

The floater was just an impulse paint as I have at this stage NO use for it.

Thanks for the comment more on Sunday Night (I plan... picture an evil Victorian twiddling his moustache!)

  2. What a brilliant set of figures.
    That’s how I carry my patients - doesn’t everyone?
    Love that chopper...

    1. Thanks Andy feel free to show this pic at the next "Moving and Handling" lecture you are forced to attend. (I am sure they will be regular Lectures).

As for normal patient moving techniques. If you are really unlucky on Sunday I will tell you the tale (all true) about the fat man stuck in a bath I had to attend! (not a pretty sight, but that was a secondary concern!!)

  3. Some people find corpse figures and/or wounded figures distasteful. Not so me! I love them. Personally, I'd like to see a lot more of them. Great work on them both.

    1. Thank you Bryan. No offence meant, but I can imagine you playing a game about grave robbing in Victorian times. Very Burke and Hare!

I too like to see dead figures on the table it make it less abstract to me.

    1. Thank you Michael. I may have a Pulp Alley plan for the Floater more MAY be revealed in times yet to pass. As for the VBCW Medics I know Matt will get a buzz about them being on the battlefield. I do Know what he likes after all.

  5. The body snatchers do look very good and are obviously useful for many other purposes too.
6mm Helicopter eh? I do wonder what you are up to!
    Have fun at the show

    1. Thank you Joe. If the idea works you may know what I am up to AFTER the show. The body snatchers well what can I say maybe the man in the middle is just drunk and they are helping him get home because he can't walk in a straight line!

  6. Lovely mixture, Clint, with the body carriers/snatchers proving the most eye-catching imho. However, all are good. Good luck with your secret project :-)

    1. Thanks Blax. I think I shall call them medics from now on as they do have red cross armbands on. As for the secret project a lot depends on the things I have pre-ordered to pick up at the show as well as how much I sell.

    1. Thank you Lee. I am currently looking for 15mm sci fi Aliens. I do not want men dressed in rubber suits. Critical Mass "Astagar" are the closest to what I am looking for, although GZG "Chitter" come second but they cost too much!

    1. Thank you Brummie. I hasten to add the helicopter is a trial piece only. Just seeing how much work something was to do. As a Plan it looks like it will work though.

As for the 28mm figs hmmm... always things I would do differently, especially on the medics.

    1. Thank you Phil. Medics should be used more in games in my opinion. So any chance to paint a medic is one I shall take and smile as I paint them.
