Yet More 10mm Samuari.

As you can see I am still working on my 10mm Samurai armies (not even half way yet!) So if you are not bored by them yet I think you will be by then end.

Today we have two more units a Samurai foot unit all carrying swords. It is a shame they are all in the same pose, I would have liked some variety but as I only have one type of samurai I am limited to what I can do. In the future I will buy different packs that way the army will look more vibrant.

The second unit is another 4 bases of Ashigaru Arquibusiers. Painted exactly the same way as before they have a very uniform look. For Ashigaru I prefer a uniform look all in the same pose and all painted the same way. On the table top they all like they belong, yes I will do a group shot another time, but I need to do a few more units before it will look worthwhile.

I have several other things part painted so with luck I might have something different to show next time. 10mm 15mm and 28mm including historical and zombies. I will not predict what will be next though it will all depend on what I feel like in the next few days.

So until Friday when I do my next update take care, have fun and get some paint on some figures.

Best wishes Clint

  1. I hardly think we're bored with these Clint and you do switch things up a lot so we are unlikely to become so.

Is it difficult to switch between that many different scales as a painter? Or do you feel that painting the smallest scales improves your precision on the larger scales?

    1. I do find it a challenge to swap scales but a pleasant challenge. I also think that your painting technique adapts with the scale. Personally I think changing scales helps me perhaps it just keeps it fresh for me rather than actually making me a better painter.

      Thank you Anne

  2. It's always nice to see more samurai and these look very good. One of these days I might get some for myself (28mm though, not big-battle stuff).

    1. I was looking at 28mm, but a friend gave me some 10mm and I was off. Decision made. I still have a lot more to do so soon I will have to start a second force as an opponent.

  6. They look great, I agree the Ashigaru look good in the same pose makes them appear very martial/disciplined troops. I think at this scale you can get away with having figures with the same poses a little more and wouldn't worry tbh.

I never get bored at what you post buddy you do such a variety of things all the while its always interesting to see what you've been upto
