Well the second bonus round has come and gone on the painting challenge. With some breath taking entries. which can be found HERE LINK. If you have not seen them I would seriously check them out and feel free to vote if you so choose.
I struggled to come up with a good Villain and did have a few option. I finally settled on two Mexican Bandits. I have since sent pics to Curt of 5 more Villains and they should be seen here soon. Well with luck.
Anyway these two miscreants are by Artizan from the Banditos II pack which I bought at Broadside in June last year.
I have the intention of passing the figure on the right to Fran ( Angry Lurker) as he was the first of the 600 club to break the target. I have yet to clear 400 points so jolly well done to him. But it does make me wonder if he should have set himself a higher target. Only time will tell as maybe he will do no more painting until the end of the challenge now.
Anyway 2 more in the wild west box and on to the next part of painting challenge. The next bonus round is of course "Vehicles" and Long time members will know that I have prepped some 15mm vehicles already for my PBI armies.
Ok that's it for today. Thanks for looking/reading at this and more again soon. I say soon as I am reliant on Curt putting things on his blog and then have to wait at least 24 hours. But I intend to blog again on Friday or Saturday at the very latest. So until then, take care and look after yourself.
All the best Clint
Ey, Gringo - mucho niceo banditos :)
ReplyDeleteOlla muy buen comentario chica. ( My Spanish is so rough I had to get this checked! Despite living with a Spanish girl years ago).
DeleteTell us more about this chica you used to live with.
DeleteIt would be wrong to say more than I have about any of my exes!
DeleteI've got these guys as well - it's amazing how often Mexican banditos are the bad guys in my games :-) . I was slightly curious as to why the figures were on different-shaped bases, at least until I read the bit about one of them being sent to Fran.
ReplyDeleteYeah it also allows me to Give Fran some Flowers! Thanks Hugh Bandidos are one of the archetype bad guys in Cowboy films so it is an easy leap from films to games.
DeleteThat hexagonal base is suitably revolutionary. :)
ReplyDeleteNice figs.
Thank you John. The real benefit of the hex bases is that they have a raised lip which for non slotta figures allows the base to be hidden.
DeleteInteresting how I can still resist the urge to game Wild west, while being bombarded by all those cowboys lately. I played a lot with LEGO Wild west when I was younger, so perhaps this helps, hah.
ReplyDeleteLovely work nonetheless, I really like how you've done the hats for some reason.
The hats are a base colour then a brown was then 2 steps of highlights to get the colours lighters as you get to the edges and the crown of the sombreros.
DeleteThank you Mathyoo.
I know that feeling oh so very well. It is very easy to see another's work and get side tracked, I do all the time. Currently thinking about Bibilcals! Among other things. ACW, Zulu and WW1 included!
ReplyDeleteThank you Loki.
Lovely job Clint, great minds and all that!
ReplyDeleteThank you Michael.
DeleteGood looking figures that I'd not seen beforem especially good as they're not stereotyped with a typical sombrero. I can only think that you're trying to cause some petty row by giving Fran a figure and not Ray.
ReplyDeleteThe challenge was that everyone in the 600 club would have to paint a figure for the first person in the group to reach 600. Fran reached 600 points first so we all have to paint him a figure. It will be interesting to see what Ray paints for him mind.
DeleteOne more of these Mexicans to come.
Thank you Jo.
Lovely figures Clint, that was quite a round wasn't it. I think Fran's overall target is 900 as he increased it to reflect the bonus rounds he was participating in.
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne. You might be right about Fran going for 900 points.
