WIP (2) Curt's Challenge.

As my Fuzzy Wuzzy's have not been on Curt's blog http://analogue-hobbies.blogspot.co.uk/ for very long it would be wrong to show them just yet. feel free to click the link above and check them out, or wait a couple of days and I'll put them on here.

In the mean time here are a couple of work in progress shots to let you know what's coming up next. As ever I will work on what takes my fancy when I sit at the painting desk, so these may come in any order.

  • 10mm Madist Camel riders
  • 10mm Mounted Samurai with bows
  • 28mm Mexican Bandits (Villains)
  • 28mm Eotd Grave robbers (Villains)

It has struck me that in a wild west filmic setting Mexicans get a rough deal. They are either the victims or the Villains. With the exception of Zorro and Manolito from the High Chaparral there have been very few Mexican characters shown in a good light. So Mexican Bandits may well be the way I go for the Villain Bonus round on The Analogue Painting Challenge. Due on Sunday.

The alternative is of course to go for Burke and Hare the infamous Grave robbers, but I may save those for a later round when "Dead" are needed and they could make a nice little Vignette. Or maybe finish the last few Wild West Zombies!

Coming soon I will have to start my Deadzone figures as there will be a game soon and as yet I have only assembled one of the blighters, let alone wave a paintbrush anywhere near him! I am slipping behind. I also want to continue with the 10mm frenzy and get my Ansar and last few Samurai finished off.

So until next update. Cheers Guys and I hope this year is treating you as well as you deserve so far. All the best Clint.

  1. That undertaker on the far right is great...I should start making a shopping list for "someday" lol.

Happy new year again Clint, make sure you make it splendid! (and yes, I know, my choice of words...I really do :D)

    1. Thank you Mathyoo. Splendid is a lovely word. I'll make it the best I can. Already feeling more positive than I did last month. Onwards and upwards.

    2. I'm glad you think so. Certain couple I should not name JOE AND BRYAN found it "entertaining". Rough people, up on the North :D

That's a start. First thing I did today was I had a dentist appointment, so you should know there is always one being worse off than you :P

  2. Nice job liking the new blog layout. Bit tough to to choose what to use. I'd be tempted to use the Mexican's for the villains and save Burke and Hare for later.

  3. I will change the header picture when I get a good one of the 20mm Camels. So this is just interim. It's funny I am enjoying painting one of the Mexicans and one of the Grave robbers. So I am undecided. I have finished the 10mm Mahdist Camelry though and sent the pics off for them. so with luck I will get them published soon.

Thank you Simon. Appreciate the input.

  4. Loved the camels and would you believe that I'm submitting three Mexican bandits for the Villains round too! Definitely keep Burke and Hare for the casualty round, although you may need to add a body!

  5. I'm liking the idea of the zombies myself. That would be so cool. Also good to see the camels make an appearance.

Sorry I haven't been by, but I'm so slow a painter that I've had to drop off in order to stay on target.

  6. Looking good, Clint! Both the masthead and your challenge work! With all the 10mm and smaller troops getting the brush in the challenge, I'm almost tempted to spash some paint on my GW epic stuff..almost. ;)

    1. Thank you David. As mentioned above the new banner is temporary. As for Epic, I must admit I am tempted to paint some as well.
