Salute 14. (My personmal Highlights)

There is much to moan about with regards to Salute but there are a number of advantages as well. What follows is a few games which caught my eye for different reasons.

To me the best game of the show. The guys from Jersey put on a very nice Flames of war game. The board really did look spectacular.

Fenris Games

Oshiro Models

French in Indo China.

Dishdash Publishing. All Terrain bought from B+Q

10mm WWi Bloody Picnic Rules
. I Do like 10mm figures
But found the terrain to be very club level.

The spice must flow.

SCW GAme I had high hopes for it from the pre show list,
but It fails to deliver to the same standard of many other games there.

Martian 28mm VSF
What's not to like.

So there it is a very personal view of the games of Salute this year. I hope a little for everyone. Generally speaking very little there that cannot be seen on others blogs.
The two games I had the highest hopes for and the other games that caught my eye.

And Finally The real high light of the show for me getting to meet the other bloggers.

A More handsome and Erudite bunch one could not hope to meet. When I talk about Handsome I of course mean Inner beauty. From the outside we look like a scruffy bunch!

  1. Nice shots - some tables do seem worse than what we use for our games at club. Who am I to judge, but I've always figured the whole purpose of show games is to come out stunning. I know for Fenris game it had to be much better than it shows, as I really loved the WIP shots :D

Has Dave put on weight and let his hair grow, or that's not him on the photo? :D
At least you are still the same! :P

  4. Salute is just too big to get everything so I just went with what I thought was the most interesting (at least to me). Thank you Loki, have you recovered yet!!

  5. Amazing, isn't it? I was at the same show, yet I don't recognise maybe 1/3 of those tables at all. There really was too much to take in!

  9. A nice collection of pics, Clint. As for good looks, as an ugly bugger myself I always think what is on the inside is far more important than what's on the outside.

    1. That Martian VSF game was there last year as well. Next year they are looking to expand it into an "L" shaped table with more town and less of a fort.

As for the last picture do not print it off and pin it to a dart board. Thank you Anne.

  12. From various reports about Salute this year it seems to have been good and bad in roughly equal portions. It is of course still just a big trade fair really.
E|ven though I wasn't there I do now have more Halloween material to scare children with.

    1. Very witty Joe! You may even scare some adults as well.

You are right about it being good and bad in equal measure. Spot on mate. Could not have put it better myself.
