Well I am not going to make a big thing of it but the illness persists in the family. One person gets better and another gets worse.

These are a bit rough but they are now finished. Well not really rough, but I have put the sashimi back banners some place and I could not find them and then the photos came out a bit blurred. But they will add to my growing Samurai armies and will fit in perfectly.

I have pre-ordered some more Samurai from Pendraken ready to pick up on Saturday at Salute but only an additional 2 packs so not as many as I could possibly get. Just enough to keep the project rolling along.

So today we have another 12 Samurai with Naginata mounted and ready for battle. These will bolster my Red Samurai army and bring them to a similar level to my grey Army. I am not far of having sufficient for a battle now, no wargames army is ever really finished but this is now approaching critical mass. And I will anticipate getting a game in quite soon. In fact I am planning one in about a month, give or take.

So Now I am writing the rules. Going for a very simple set based on DBA but that could all change as it is not yet written in stone.

Thanks for looking today. I have a spare hour so I may get to make some fudge done ready for the traders at Salute.

I am hoping to get another one or two more posts in before the big day. So with luck talk to you soon.
All the best Clint

  2. Those are looking great, Clint! And being cavalry, always a nice addition to any army.

As for the fudge, don't make the promises you can't keep! I'm still deeply hurting from last years expectations :D :D

  3. More good additions Clint.
Although therre is not a great difference between DBA and DBM, you may find DBM a better starting point.

    1. Thank you Jo. You are right DBA and DBM are very similar, Initial thoughts are DBA/M with +1 for Samurai and -1 for peasants

    2. IIRC in DBM they wouldn't they be blades superior and something like blades inferior respectively ?

    3. I think you are correct, but a simple +/- 1 should make all the difference. And some rules for communication and command and I am about there. Thank you Jo

  4. Sorry to hear about the illness in the family - I hope all's well soon.

Nice figures, as always. I really wish that 10mm had been around when I started some of my earlier armies. I might have skipped 6mm and 15mm completely :-) .

Ah, I don't think the back banners you've misplaced are "sashimi". That's something entirely different!

    1. Opps you are right it's Sashimono back banners. Complete gaff my mistake no excuses! Thanks for pointing it out.

I am seriously thinking that only 10mm for big battle games. Thus very tempted to get rid of my 15mm armies entirely (except where I can't get replacements like modern!)

Thank you Hugh. If you like them wait till you see what I am working on now! (10mm Sudan!!!)

  7. Another nice looking group Clint! Writing your own set of rules sounds terribly difficult and then the test games. Lots of work in store for you.

You've got the Fudge made and some folks will be very happy indeed. Have a safe journey and a good time at Salute!

    1. The Fudge is in the fridge (air is colder and drier) for it to set properly. Chances are I will be able to separate it tomorrow and then another day resting and ready to go!

Writing rules is easy!!!!! Well sometimes!

Hope to have a good time and meet the rejects and a few others at Salute. Thank you Anne.
