First Chasllenge painting day.

All a bit of a waffle today. Well the Analogue painting challenge started at 6am this morning UK time. And I have painted most of the day.

I am currently working on twenty four 28mm figures. I had them all prepped and based ready to go so come 6am I was set to start. I am the first to admit that they are not a hard paint.  Being the guy on the left (opps Ed. The one in the right, I can't tell left from right) . All one colour uniforms with no tricky patterns on them and no details on the collars and cuffs.

I have had very good progress so far and expect to finish them by Sunday. I think I have 2-3 hours painting time left to do and then the same basing time as well. So I suggest 6 hours left in total. I think this is the fastest I have ever painted. And the results are not too bad, even if I say so myself.

I have had one mistake. I did give a standard bearer an officers (Navy Blue Uniform) by error. And have had to re-paint it. I have not caught him up with the others just yet but he's not too far behind.

I can't show any photos until at least Wednesday or 24 hours after they go on Curt's blog.

So that's it for now and no Prep work tonight either as my sister is coming round.

Cheers Guys.

    1. Well Phyllion I am just not as fast as I would hope to be. Wait for the Zulus for speed. I am thinking I shall get several of those done each hour! less so with loo breaks.

  3. Great start Clint and you certainly made me smile earlier today when I saw you'd started at an extremely prompt 6.01 am. Your models sound great - if only you'd post WIP pics - so I'm really looking forward to mid-week to see the finished articles on the official Analogue Challenge blog. 120 pts almost in the bag already, as they say :-)

    1. Thanks Blax
To reach my target I must push hard and not slip into apathy. No Work in progress as that will take it away from the painting table and put things out of sequence.

The Mrs is out, the kids are in bed, I've got a choice....either paint or get the Playstation out and have a spank out on Call of Duty????

  5. Good stuff Clint. I spent a good few hours at the table last night too, coincidentally also working on 24 x historical 28s.

  7. You are all over it and it looks like you're tracking for an early submission. Now don't forget to eat and to sleep.

I'm now working on my third figure which is a little 20mm. The headache I've got has got to go away before I pick the brush up again.

    1. Thank you Anne. Yes 3 months without food and sleep would be a bad thing.

Third figure you are flying. I have nothing finished.

  8. I'm looking forward to seeing our efforts Clint!

BTW you can do WIP posts if you like - I just want the final results of your blood, sweat and tears...

    1. Thanks Curt. I try not to do WIP shots as I am a very scruffy painter and rely on a tidy up at the end.

    1. Thanks mate. I will not keep this pace up. But my plan is to get some points on the board before close of play Tuesday.

Just finished their faces, now on the tidy up. Then metallic then bases then Varnish to go. So ahead of schedule...... until I pick up something other than spray varnish. Then it will be grab a tissue and sob my heart out.
