More WW1 Germans

Yes Paint monkey has been busy again. Let's start with the fact that there are another 6 done. They have been colour matched to the ones painted by Ray and postie, but with different bases. Nothing wrong with Ray and Posties Bases of course but I prefer mine. (In the same way that they will prefer there own .)

Again I have put red flowers on the bases to make them look like poppies. As you can see there is a group shot of all 12 now they are all finished and have already been given back to Matt who did like the result. Consequently Paint Monkey has got some more 28mm figures to paint for him. But I will not be painting them until the painting challenge starts at 6am tomorrow morning. I am hoping that they will be an easy paint, you never know they may be as I want to use them to start the challenge. Which means that they have been cleaned up, primed and based. But that starts in 22 hours time, which is the future so for now I am trying to clear the painting table today.

That's it for today, thank you for looking. As ever please feel free to comment or not as you see fit. My next Scheduled post will be Saturday and Turn 19 of the PBB game. So until then take care have fun and like me I hope you will be preparing for Curt's challenge. I plan to send in my first entry for the challenge on Tuesday so will probably post it here the day after.

All the best Clint

  1. Like the paint job, questioning the hats :) Not the colors, just the hats themselves :D

    1. Yeah the hats are a little strange but were Uhlan Lancer helmets. Thank you Kyle.

  2. Great stuff Clint, and you're clearly a master of painting numerous similar pose 'minion' models - as Paint Monkey continues to regularly churn out wonderfully painted models by the half dozen :-) How are the spaceships coming along?

    1. Space ships not started as they will be towards the end of the challenge so expect them late February or early March. The flag for the Faction is a silver eagle on a red field but still not settled on a colour.

I have the weekend mostly cleared so I expect (hope) to get 18-20 28mm figures done in that time. Just to push start my challenge.

      Thank you Blax

    1. Cheers Phil. As I have painted them for someone else I have had little choice in the figures. But yes Unusual.

  5. These are nice Clint and I do like those bases.

I can't wait for the start of the Challenge tomorrow. All those primed mini's are glaring at me from the table.

  7. Looking good as ever, PM does such a fine job, but I guess it's just practice for the painting challenge.

  8. Very cool figures - love the early-War uniforms - the cool uhlan headgear being a favorite

    1. Thank you Dean. I am not terribly familiar with Uhlan uniforms and head gear but I think they have come out OK.

  9. Dismounted Uhlans - very unusual figure and very useful too - probably more useful than mounted ones with lancers, or as the BEF called them, "targets".
    Nice work Paint Monkey.
    Cheers,

    1. Thanks Michael. I cannot find any manufacture that makes dismounted WW1 French cavalry though and they would be nice to round out the forces. Although I am told they rarely dismounted.
