A couple more!

Two more figures for Matts Collection. I suspect the lady is modelled after "Miss Fisher" in the Miss Fisher Mysteries detective series. Not a series I really enjoy, it's ok but nothing oh so special to me! but it is of the 1920's so eminently suitable for a VRCW.

While her companion reminds me of a grown up Tin Tin, Matt thinks they are both Copplestone castings but is not sure not that it matters too much.

I shall do one more post on Saturday morning as I have a few more that shall be finished by then.

Thanks for looking today, have fun from a rather chilly this morning Kent.

All the best Clint

  1. For what's it's worth they *are* Coplestone (she's a modified Lady Archaeologist and he's one of the Jolly Good Chaps).

    Nice work, as always.

  5. They're both good figures but I especially like the lady with the Lewis gun. Thanks to a search on Wikipedia I now know a lot more about Miss Fisher, whom I'd never heard of before.

  6. More good stuff Clint. I have that Jolly Good Chap and think you've done a corking job on him. Though a lady with a Lewis gun isn't to be trifled with either ;-)

  7. These are nice additions to the existing crew Clint. I like the way you painted the gents sweater. It has the look of real wool about it.

I've seen Miss Fisher (I'm a rabid fan of detective shows) and i'ts okay. The idea is good, but it's one that just misses the mark. One of my favourites is New Tricks, but getting that here is difficult. I have to wait till someone puts it up on Youtube and download it before it gets pulled.

  13. Not sure that the lady with the gun quite has Phryne's sassiness!
Phryne is wonderful! I was gonna tell you to wash your mouth out Clint--in a friendly, joking, stirring kinda manner, of course!
Yep, they are written to a simple formula, but Essie Davis plays the role so well and having Kerry Greenwood involved in the production has kept them true to her wonderfully witty writing. Love the playful by-play between the characters too. In a simple, family way they capture the wildness of the 20s which I reckon makes the much talked about 60s look like a meeting of the social conservatives.

    1. Thank you James. I have enjoyed the Miss Fisher Mysteries when I have seen them. It is just that on a personal note there seems something lacking. I do agree that the actress plays the role well, And no criticism of her intended I think it is either the storylines or the Australian setting that I have trouble with.

    2. That's part of the attraction for us, of course, to see some of 'our' stories and to hear actors speaking in our accent, rather than American or British-various.
      Cheers Clint, James
