A Few More BUF

Yes back on a VBCW for a little,. You might be thinking I wimped out about the Skirmish show Battle report. And the truth is I suppose I have. Which is not to say I will never do it, but I just wanted to break up the waffle with some painting.

I think these are all Musketeer Miniatures, but if you know better please correct me. One medium or heavy machinegun (depending on which rules) an NCO commanding the gun and an officer commanding a bow tie.

I do have a few more to come, so maybe on Friday or Sunday. All depends on what live throws at me.

They are of course painted for Matt and his ever growing collection. But I shall be back to colonial stuff before too long.

Thanks for looking today. All the best Clint

  1. Hmm... There's a definite Spanish Civil War air about these VBCW minis Clint; doubtless a Fascist contingent? Regardless they're nicely painted, and I especially like the MGT and their base. Good work from the Viceroy of VBCW ;-)

    1. Thank you Blax. yes they are fascists (British Union of Fascists BUF)But it is quite possible they come from a Spanish Civil War range as well, I have some Empress miniatures started that are SCW figures. So these may be as well.

    1. Thank you Roy. As I think the MG will take time to set up I usually put it behind bushes or rocks. Just like the operators would!

    1. Thank you Ray. Matt says they are musketeer miniatures VBCW range, But the ones I will finish tonight are Empress Miniatures Spanish Civil war range. I can see the hats are slightly different, but they do look very similar to me.

  5. Great additions Clint, I'm always amazed how consistent you are with not just the uniforms but your basing too.

    1. Thank you Joe. I do notice little inconsistencies in all the bases which Is why I do less group shots than I should. So I will do a group shot with the next figures. As for my consistency it is just about remembering which colour paints to use. And If you cannot remember write it down.

  6. When I first painted heavy weapons, I put all the crew on separate bases. However, my later ones all have a single, integrated base like your HMG here. As this shows, it looks like all the crew and the weapon *belong* together!

  7. Thank you C6. As you will see in a future BUF heavy weapon post I do not put all the crew on the same base. I find the best solution is to have one member separate so you can remove a casualty if you need to and thus reduce the rate of fire. The Mortar (Coming soon as finished last night) has two on the base and a 3rd separate.

One thing we can all agree on no matter what method you use someone will disagree and someone else will point out rules that go against any choice you make. Luckily because I am painting for a friend he makes all those decisions.
