Villianous Cast.

Well apart from the Big game hunter and the Lioness, which was the post before last, this is my villainous cast of cannibals. Apart from the Priestess they are all from Foundry. 7 male figures all wearing masks and armed with either bows or with shields and spears. These were an EBay purchase some years ago but I have freshened up the paint job and re-based them to match in with the Tarzan figures. While the shields do match, all the spears are different, simply because when I bought them none were provided. Thus they have a very mix and match expression.

I have matched the mask on the Priestesses staff to the warriors to create a feeling that they all belong together. I'm quite happy with the effect both theatrical and in keeping with a pulp TAR7AN setting.

The shields are not decorated, being simple browns with a black/brown wash over the top. I did not want the shields to clash with the masks which should be the most menacing part of the figure.

One figure does not have a shield (I ran out) so instead carries a severed head. Needles s to say this figure is the tribal Headman. In game terms he will be a normal film extra but with the bonus of a leadership skill. The skill will allow him to activate an extra figure who is lose by. In other words he can issue an order to the other warriors. The two archers have no quivers so we shall have to assume they carry them in their hands.

The same Archers with the priestess.

And this cake was made yesterday for work. Coffee and Walnut. Not drinking coffee I have not tasted it, but when I cut it in half to add the fresh cream it was a very nice texture and I could see the walnuts have were scattered evenly throughout.

So that's it for today. Thanks for reading, hope you found something of interest even if it was just to think "Oh Cake!"

All the best and I hope to post again in 2 days time.

All the best Clint.

  1. Those Foundry figures go so well with the Priestess from Reaper. Using the same colour on the shields as on her staff, ties them together perfectly. The guy with the severed head is perfect.

That cake looks delicious! Did you make enough for all of us?

    1. I have sent you cake via e mail. It should be coming through the wires any moment now!

Thanks Anne. I think they all look like they should go together which is what lead me to paint the priestess the colours I did.

  2. Hmm cake and death.
The figures match well with the priestess and will add to a great villainous cast.

Coffee cake ? Not for me, it comes a very close second to the abomination that is chocolate cake.

    1. As mentioned above I don't drink Coffee so I have no idea what it will taste like. Several people at work have requested one though so I thought to give it a try.

Cake and Death sounds like the idea for a gladiator game. Death by chocolate meet Sparticus!

  3. Those are great miniatures, very characterful and pulpy. I think you've done good with leaving shields "plain", masks provide great contrast to browns...not too little and not too much.

Headman wearing heads, eh? Who'd figure! :P

    1. Headman, the clue is in the name. In My own mind I think that coloured masks would appear more demonic than coloured shields.

      Thank you Mathyoo.

    1. So if I ever get an invite back to "le Maison Postie" I should not make a Walnut Curry.

Yes I think the tribals are definitely after causing trouble.

    1. I think they fit very well with the TAR7AN Heroic cast.

The cake did not last long at work. The Psychologists were complaining that they did not get any and the nurses scoffed it all!

    1. Thank you Michael. The headman was due to a lack of shields sometimes things that go wrong turn out right.

As mention above the cake went pretty quickly. Not drinking coffee I never know how strong I should make the flavour in a cake.

  9. What an excellence job you have done there and they so look like the natives in the old Tarzan movies from my youth. Great colour scheme and I love the headhunter and the extra rule you have given him. Its is one of the reasons that I love 7Tv so much as you can add flavour bits to it so easily

    1. Thank you Peter. I am at the stage where I realise that there has been no problems so I am waiting for things to go wrong.... but fingers crossed they won't. I'm digging deep for the old black and white TAR7An films from my youth as well. Johnny Wisemuller a legend in his own day.
