Mad Naville.

Ok we all know who this is supposed to be. Yep that's right Neville! Mad Neville. It's a Reaper Miniatures Chronoscape figure. I originally got it for Curt's painting challenge I was hoping to get it done for the Favourite character bonus round. But alas it was not finished in time ho Hum Can't be helped never mind. Therefore I quickly finished it as a random zombie survivor so any resemblance to any film character is totally coincidental.

I will be finishing a few things off in the run up to Salute so I would expect the next week or two to be quite random.

That's it for today. All the best Clint.

  1. I love the way you've painted the eyes - they look very intimidating!

I did try to get a close up but I just could not get one I was happy with.

    1. Thank you Ad. The thing with that figure is that you know players will gravitate towards it.

  4. Great looking figure and superb paint-job, but I'm at a loss as who Mad Neville or Naville is (I've had a sheltered life), I'm guessing though that he doesn't ride camels.

    1. Ok I can't spell it's mad Neville! No but I will be starting a new project after Salute. And I know you like my new projects. So feel free to have a guess I promise I won't change my mind from what I am currently thinking. (Maybe 1 Historical and ! Fantasy!) Thank you Jo

    2. So, this sounds like a challenge I'm eager to fail.
So I'm guessing the following have all been temporarily put on the back-burner: Tarzan, Chariot Racing, WW1 (other than the environs of Damascus) a mountain hangout/monastery in Tibet (for either an Indiana Jones or a Kung-fu fly-by-wire type game) and Wild West zombies.
Which doesn't leave a lot really, so going on what is currently in vogue:
Some form of fantasy Viking style game (using the ever more popular Saga rules),
      or
maybe some form of Victorian Sci-fi, Doctor Who etc.
      or maybe
on the historic front there's Tomahawk and Musket games and possibly "standard" Saga both still popular.
I'm going to say though I don't think you'll be doing anything to do with "big battalion" gaming nor any of the current Post Apoc. or future skirmish style of games (most of the new onesarevery weak imo).
But whatever you do I know it'll be interesting and amusing and will be looked forward to with eager anticipation

    3. The Tarzan terrain has suffered in the winter months, so that is far on the back burner. Chariot racing never got going so that' gone completely. WW1 I am painting some figures for a friend and thinking about it so it's a possible but not likely. The Mountain Monestary ( I had forgotten about that,) I have already used the base board I had planned for the Tarzan scenery see above. Wild west Zombies did not really work in a game setting. So that's also shoved to the back for now.

Having played Saga I just don't like it! So that's a no from me. But Fantasy is one of the options , so well done give yourself a point.

Colonial is another direction I will be looking at during Salute.

  5. Nice character - he must have quite a grip and forearm to fire a double-barrelled sawed off with one hand!

    1. He was Mad Nigel while I was painting him, but changed name to Nevile while typing. Strange how these things happen.

      Thank you Dave.

  8. Yeah no excuses for my brush work..... I found him a hard one to get right so he probably does have a deranged look to him.

    Thanks Andy

  12. Great job Clint one of my favourite characters. I nearly picked up the bones version of this character at WMMS but changed my mind the material felt a bit funny I think it will be the metal one for me.

    1. Get the metal version is my recommendation. Thank you Simon. And he could be suitable for across the dead earth.

  13. Fantastic paintjob, a true apocalypse survivor, you can see the dark that has set upon his eyes (yes, I get poetic from time to time :D).
Seeing I'm kind of detective, I've came to a conclusion he must be somehow related to another grumpy mad person I got to know in the past years. But seems like his relative has moved up north and assimilated with the locals. But the grumpiness still lingers in his blood! Pure evil!

You're a wicked man Clint, wicked.

  16. Hi Clint,

Lovely paint job - am I alone in thinking that he reminds me of the Terminator? All he needed was some shades!

    All the best,
