During the Spanish Civil War a typical Order of battle would be something similar to:
INFANTRY BATTALION.
With each Machine gun platoon being between 2 and 4 machine guns plus platoon leader. needless to say local variations were more the rule due to both local conditions and local forces. So the above is only a typical battalion and may or may not be represented on the battlefield. As such this would be a typical machine gun Platoon. 4 Machine guns and a platoon commander. Needless to say that in defence this would be quite fearsome!
As these are 10mm Pendraken figures they are quite small to paint and quite a punchy unit on the battle field.
Thant's it for today. Hope to have more on Saturday. Thanks for popping by.
All the best Clint.
That's some serious firepower you have there, Clint.
ReplyDeleteI think I have enough for a whole machinegun company for the Nationalists and a reduced company for the Republicans as well. I may have gone over the top with machineguns! Thank you Bryan
DeleteThat's some serious support.
ReplyDeleteHaving all that support and fielding it are of course 2 different things. As trench warfare had not quite gone out of fashion machineguns were very useful in the SCW. Thank you Michael.
DeleteCheers Mate. I hope to do another post on Saturday .A pre-show post!
ReplyDeleteThere's some serious firepower there and it's good to know the SCW forces are still making progress despite the distraction ofthe show this weekend (good luck with that -hope it goes well btw).
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe. I have most of the SCW forces painted now. So will need to get on with some terrain soon.
DeleteThere is no such thing as too many machine guns. I love them! Make sure you set up a defensive position and find someone to play the poor side that has to rush MG company hue hue hue.
ReplyDeleteNo such thing as too many machine guns.... well it kind of depends on if you are firing them or being fired at, I should say. Thank you Mathyoo.
DeleteThat's a good deal of fire supports the look great mate. I'd much rather be sitting behind one than have the task of facing one let alone four!
ReplyDeleteMe too Thank you Simon.
DeleteGreat work Clint!!!!
ReplyDeleteCheers Mate.
DeleteGood work there Clint and good luck for the weekend too
ReplyDeleteCheers PK
