Games at Broadside 2015

Well as I am sure you will know Broadside show was yesterday. So here is a very very very very very quick glimpse of the games that were there.
Crawley Wargames Club

Deal wargames Club.54mm WW2 Skirmish

Batman. while not into superheroes I did like the board,
Just a shame so many unpainted figures.

Society of Ancients. Won best painted figures in the show.

"Seems" Club doing some X-wing.

Posties Rejects doing some 28mm Border Reivers skirmish.

Sheppeay Games won best game in show for this African Game.
And I would say a very well deserved win.

Southend Wargames Club.

Skirmish wargames,
American Mexican war

Herne Bay/Whitstable
A Lion Rampant game.
Gravesend Gamers Guild
Warmachine.

I'll do a report on our game later this week. But as a spoiler it was French Indian Wars Muskets and Tomahawks rules and there will be a few shots of it here.

That's it for now, I can only apologise that some of the shots came out a bit dark, but I really did not have time to go around and take multiple pictures. Only Time for a quick snap on each one.

The good news is that I have enjoyed the show and it has lifted me a little out of my wargames doldrums.

EDIT> Broadside 2015. I put the wrong date down . I admit it I made a mistake. Now corrected, thanks for pointing it out.

  3. It seems weird, knowing Ray was in attendance, but not seeing a picture of him grinning to camera :)

I really do like the look of that Mexican town. Thanks for sharing, Clint.

    1. Thanks Roy. Sorry no pics by me showing Ray grinning, but he was grinning in real life.

The Mexican town was very nice, All clubs there putting on a game were allowed to vote for favourite games, as a club we did Vote it second to the African game. (But it was close)

  5. I particularly liked the photo of the Batman game, but like you, I am not a fan of using unpainted figures. All in all, it looked like a good show.

    1. Thanks Bryan. There were some nice touches on the game and the setting (Including a fun fair) would be good for zombies or post apoc as well. I do regret not getting a few more photos of it.

I think painted figures at a show really are so much better than unpainted but you never know why they were not painted, maybe they only arrived a day before or so. You just never know.

  6. Some great games there, the Mexican and African ones do stand out from the crowd (along with the Rejects one too tbh). I really don't think that there is any excuse for using unpainted figures at a public show though.

    1. Thanks Joe.
Yes the Rejects game was good as well. As for unpainted figures. I can imagine that it was down to a club painter and for one reason or another he did not get them finished, But most importantly they did put a game on and with the exception of the unpainted figures it did look good.

  8. The Batman game is a particular fave of mine. But as you point out, how can you use unpainted minis... quite outrageous :-)

    1. Thanks Blax. The game would have been better with painted minis but what happens if one of the guys goes in hospital for example and the minis are in his flat? Maybe no one can get them. I am not saying that happened just that sometimes things happen and rather than condemning it we just try to understand it. I hope they just ran out of time though.

  9. It looks like you all had quite a nice time this year. The pics are just fine as the tables stand out against the dark.

Sorry I've been absent, but I have been ill and my father in law just had heart surgery.
