Let there be light!

Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to everyone for their support over my "Windows 10" fiasco. Needless to say it did cause me to worry but not sufficiently to cause a major distraction. Normal sleep patterns have been resumed!

I  have ditched Windows 10 for the foreseeable future and returned to windows 8.1. It is not my favourite OS (that would be Windows IT) but in my opinion far better than Windows 10. I am confident that in a year or two Windows 10 will be a very good operating system. As it stand though I did not find that to be the case so I have swapped back to windows 8.1

The swap back was very easy and it restored all my saved setting, all my saved blogs and places on the internet and all my saved passwords. Being dyslexic remembering passwords is a real problem for me so I am very grateful I did not have that hassle. Whereas windows 10 DELETED all my passwords! So I will let you guess which one I am happy with and which one I am not!

I plan to be back to blogging normally in 2 days as this windows 10 disruption has put my painting schedule 2 days behind.

Thank you all for your Patience and let's get back to normal as quickly as possible!

Cheers Guys, all the best from Kent and me .

Catch you later.

  1. You must be so relieved, Clint. Lesson learned, huh? Better the devil you know than the devil you don't know.

    1. Cheers Mate. Lesson learned hmmmmm maybe only time will tell. It was easy to switch back though and pretty hassle free. And yours was a very swift reply as well, I posted wrote 1 email and then you replied to the post before my email was finished!

      Thanks Again Bryan.

    2. Yeah, me too. I've just gotten back into play-by-mail gaming, and am looking forward to the simplicity of using only pens and pieces of paper, aided by looking at books. I've already found what I need off the Internet and am hoping to now play the game without the aid of the Internet and computer.

  4. Thank goodness you managed to get everything back. It would have been horrible for you if everything had been lost.

Now, get back to painting so you have something to post :)

    1. Thank you Tamsin. As of yesterday I am painting figures for 2 club members. So I had best get the brush busy!

  5. My friend was going through the very same thing only yesterday. He was switching back after a day of windows 10 shenanigans.

    1. Thanks Kyle. I am sure "windows 10" will be a great success. But at the moment I feel it has been rolled out FAR too early. I would give it a year as they improve it and get it to how it should be. The internet system they have with it is far to slow and awkward at the moment and Internet Explorer is just about 4 times as good.

  7. What a relief! I can't think of anything worse, but a timely reminder to keep things backed up. Looking forward to having you back to blogging normality soon.

    1. Cheers Mr Awdry. I must have a vivid imagination as I can think of many worse things (Leprosy! for example!) And only time will tell if I have learned anything from this. I will most likely blog again tomorrow!

  8. Welcome back from the dark side! Lol. Seriously though, when tech blatantly doesn't deliver the 'advances' it promises my blood boils.

    1. Thank you Simon. I am sure you will come across windows 10 professionally. It's not a bad OS really and will be good when they work out all the errors!
