Problems so Going Dark

Well that was a mistake. I have "Upgraded" to "windows 10" and to be honest I am now struggling to find anything and all my saved websites and blogs are now gone. Which is to say I am sure they are still there, but I have to find them all again on the internet. To be honest I wish I had not upgraded to the new operating system! Additionally. Blogger is no longer allowing me to upload pictures. Which kind of make my blog a waste of time. Therefore until I can get the issues sorted out. I will be going Dark. So No more blogging for a while and maybe, just maybe back in a short while! Cheers Guys

  2. Good luck; each issue I read about Windows 10 pushes me further away from trying it.

    1. Thanks Citizen, I really wish I had not done it. But at least everyone is kind and sympathetic. And not telling me I am an idiot, I say that so myself enough!

  6. It seems that Windows 10 is incredibly buggy and unhelpful.

I hope you backed up all your files and such-like before you did the upgrade. I've heard of some real horror stories from people who didn't do that.

See you in a while, when things are sorted.

    1. Thanks Tams. I will still be around and commenting on blogs, but Until I get the issues fixed I cannot put images on my blog from my computer. I might be able to from another device though or alternative location!

  7. I'm still regretting moving away from Windows 7 to 8 personally, so my best wishes in overcoming this IT issue Clint. At least once you're back up and running, you'll be able to treat us to daily postings for a short while as you catch-up on your painted minis backlog ;-)

  9. If you did an upgrade, rather than a reinstall, you can downgrade again in minutes. I had to do a restore back to 8.1 as our company VPN broke all the network drivers in 10. It seems the upgrade process takes a snapshot of your previous state and allows you to back out in the first 30 days

  10. It's not clear if you were using Internet Explorer. If so, the default browser is now Edge rather than IE, but: you can import your IE favourites into Edge - click on the Hub button in Edge, and there's an "import favourites" link. Also - IE is still there for compatibility purposes, and you can find it by typing its name into Cortana's search box. If it wasn't IE, sorry, can't help :-(

    1. Thanks Gavin I am in no way a software guru. So for me this is a very useful comment. However I do feel that windows 10 is a backwards step for me personally and on Monday I will attempt to go back to my original "Factory" settings. I was using internet explorer simply because it is the system and setting I am happy with. And for me all this mucking about has been a huge waste of time especially as now I am unable to import pictures onto blogger!

    2. Commiserations. Software is my job, so I try to adjust, but I have to admit Windows 10 is testing that philosophy a bit at the moment! Good luck with what ever route you choose. I wish I had a clue what the picture import issue is.

    3. Thank you Gavin. I also have no idea what the picture import issue is. I can see that windows 10 might be a good OS in about 1 years time. but at the moment there are far to many problems and it runs considerably slower than windows 8.1, The Internet is very lumpy and takes a while just to scroll down a page. Windows 10 is not the upgrade it should be.

  12. Crikes! As usual it seems Microsoft is pushing product evaluation onto its users rather than testing it first! Hope you get your IT problems sorted...see you on the flip-side mate.

  14. Ahh, my heart goes out to you Clint, I hate technology and never jump into anything new without giving it a year or so to sort itself out.
I hope you get your problems sorted soon,

    1. Thanks Joe. The worst that can happen is that I throw this computer away and get a new one. But I doubt I will need to do that.
