More 28mm Empress miniatures SCW figures (VBCW)

Yes I have finished another batch ready for matt on Sunday. The figures are Empress miniatures Spanish Civil War figures. However they will be used as Very British Civil war figures.  At the end is a group shot of the whole batch.

Again Mat wanted a socialist look so plenty of Red on handkerchiefs ad balaclavas, neck ties and caps.
The figure holding a pole will later be a flag bearer but that is a job for Matt and not me.

Some (a few ) of the figures are women and a few have head swaps or at least hat swaps. Which means there are more British helmets.
Not a problem to me or as it happens Matt.

The final photograph the figures did not all fit in the back drop. So 1 has been photographed (on the right) without the back drop. DoH!

matt is aware that there is a figure missing. It has gone absent without leave and will have to have another blog post linked back to this one.

That's it for today. I shall try to get an ECW figure done for the week -end. But no promises just if I get time. It is now started and should (fingers crossed) be finished soon.

Thanks for looking. More again soon. All the best Clint

  1. Very nice, Clint. I like the chap's with the Molotov and the dynamite sling, the green bottle and lit fuse look good.

    1. Thank you Roy. An ECW figure next (on Saturday) but these are done and that is a relief. I feel I can breathe out again. Well almost 1 is missing.

    1. Thanks Blax. Firstly no guarantees on ECW. I could easily get side tracked into ww2 Japanese tanks. But I do appreciate the support.

  3. Given your recent output, I think it's safe to say that you have your painting mojo back. Good work.

    1. Thank you Bryan. No one likes painting in the dark. Of late it has been brighter and more sunny, I put it down to that.

    1. Thanks Dave. Probably ECW as I just about have one finished. Only a single figure but still..... unless I get side tracked onto ww2 or wild west or... the list goes on. But most likely a single ECW figure.

    2. Ah the models dilemma, so many distractions so little time ! And all dependent on how the muse descends. Your doing well though with how many models you output on a weekly basis

    3. Thank you Dave. Still no idea what it will be though. Depends what I feel like tomorrow early in the morning.

    1. Thank you Andy. Matt is only so lucky as I have lost 1 figure. I am sure it will turn up though.... and then no doubt need painting again.

  7. I'm so pleased you told us what the central top figure was carrying as I had visions of it being something akin to a stick with dynamite tied to it (or something).
That's quite the force of ne-erdowells (or are they the good guys?) you've painted up and more to come too!

    1. Thanks Joe. ECW tomorrow. As for their morals it all depends on what side you support. While Matt does want them socialists so for some that will make them heroes and for others ne-erdowells. As a fictional war who can tell, all about personal taste.

  8. Great job on these minis Clint. I do so like the dynamite slinger. Very cool pose if not a dangerous occupation!

    1. Thank you Simon. Dyanamite in a sling was used in the Spanish civil war mostly by Austrian miners. They were hated Republican troops and were killed if captured.
