FSE Mortar crews (and Update).

These are the first figures painted since SELWG show. (Last Sunday).

Two Mortars and crew for my Federal States Europa force. Each consist of 2 crew and an automatic Mortar. Needless to say being sci fi the crews do not need to be on the same base as the mortar moreso they can fire it indirectly and even from inside a vehicle which may be parked over the horizon.  Maybe with the right set up even from Orbit perhaps of another planet.

However if that is the case reloading does become an issue! But as GZG (Link to GZG) sell the mortars with the crew we (at least for now) shall consider the crew close in general terms.

So 1 pack is 2 Mortars and 4 crew. As all my force is mobile I chucked the Engineers out of the fitters truck and re-purposed it to carry these!

here fore 2-4 Mortars and crews can fit in a single vehicle. Although at present I only have 2 mortars.

Following the show I did a small order as you can see in the pic. They arrived very swiftly and shall be assembled this weekend.  The new "Fitters Truck" does need some clutter added to it in the form of Tarps and boxes and the like so it MAY take some time before you see it, but rest assured it is now on the way. So more of this another time. All of which means for now just 3 more posts and I shall have it all done for Gruntz. (Yeah I believe that too... NOT!) There is bound to be more, infract I am already planning terrain wise and figure wise!

I have received another Crimbo Pressie for me and have that squirreled away for now. But at least I know I shall be getting something I want.

I have also opened the 7TV and now know everything is there. This was not really a concern as I could feel from the weight it was not empty, but this does stop me being disappointed!

That's it for today and I plan and hope to get back to normal soon. At least in regard to posting on tis blog.

Thanks for looking and I had better get on with Zombtobet painting as soon as possible.

All the best Clint

    1. Thank you Dave. Yes you have a fair amount to catch up with most notably your Male alien arachnid.

As for the fitters truck I feel this time it will be more appropriate than last time. Assembly tomorrow, then we'll see how it goes.

    3. Fitters truck to be primed tonight. I am sure you did look at the other posts.

Overall happy with the arachnid but not all that keen to do more of them for a while... maybe later.

    1. Thank you Fran. Just to say the "fitters truck" is partly inspired by you. But only partly.

    1. Thank you Don. I am also toying with the idea of some towed artillery or anti tank just don't tempt me as I need to source some tows for then and that is looking tricky to get exactly the look I want.

    1. Thank you Tamsin. I am planning (but yet to start) some farms for Gruntz. Also Tony from Brigade wants a game. I'll keep you informed as much as is practical.

  7. 15mm is not for me but you've painted them up fairly well. However, 7TV2e is much more to my liking and I look forward to reading your own thoughts on it.

    1. THank you Bryan. On a first skim there are some differences in 2e7TV but at this stage they do not seem huge. I will know more in December when I start planning properly.

  8. Great 15mm posting Clint. I’ve a few “GZG” minis lined up for next month myself, as I’m also in the mood for that scale presently. I wasn’t a fan of “7TV2e” personally, but am thinking of giving it a second go, now I’ve forgotten most of the rules to its first edition (which was the main reason I disliked it tbh).

    1. Thanks Blax. There are more gzg and Brigade 15mm sci fi to come. Although not too many. The fitters truck, the new one is about ready to be primed as are another squad and vehicle.

As for &TV2e I have yet to read and make up my mind so I am still up in the air about it.

  9. Great stuff, Clint, but hecvicting the engineers until they get a new truck is a bit harsh.
7TV does look a good game and I reckon I would enjoy playing it, but realising I'll never get to play it I'll instead enjoy reading your exploits.

    1. Thank you Joe. While Evicting the engineers might seem harsh the ne vehicle (currently in paint) is so much more suited to them. I am sure you will agree once it is finished.

Ahh 7TVe2 I do have high hopes but time will tell in the end. It may flop in my hands. But I do have plans to stop that.
