SCW Regulars

Well It has been a little while since I last posted any painted figures but that does not mean I have been idle. So here are another 14 stands of Spanish Civil War Regular troops. By Regular I do of course just mean that they are all wearing the "regular" Army uniform.

You can see there is one command stand as well as a machine gun stand as well as 12 other infantry stands. These will help bulk out my troops and should mean that I am getting to a point where I can get a game suitable for a few players. Yes I shall do a group shot a little later which should show the forces as a whole.

One of the joys of painting 10mm figures is that they are pretty straight forward to both pain and bas. Add to that that they are easy to transport and cheap to buy and you can see why I am falling in love with them. It is also worth noting that more companies are now producing 10mm figures than ever before.

That's it for today but I am slowly approaching a couple of new (or at least very old) projects so expect more about 1 of them by this time next week.

Thanks for looking today. Maybe another post tomorrow and then back on track Monday.

All the best enjoy any sun that may be about and take care. All the best Clint.

    1. They pretty much paint themselves. (ok not quite that simple) But after the base colours a black was takes all the shading in one hit.
      Thank you Loki.

post script: I have an idea should you want to go to Broadside cheap and at the same time represent War bases. If you are going to SELWG we'll discuss it then. (Yes Ray and Fran will take the p*ss, but when don't they?)

    1. I may be able to do a couple of Army shots tomorrow or next Wednesday. As I know people like to see them. Just get a few more stands done tonight while watching the footie. I will be cheering for Holland! Cheers Mate.

  4. I've said it before, but I'll repeat myself: if 10mm had been available 30 years ago then I would never have invested in 6mm and 15mm figures. These really are very nice, Clint!

As for the continuation of your projects I can't wwait to see th "Tarzan Chariot racing through a mountainside monastery versus the Ninja camel men of the Wild West .(Ok maybe not the ninjas then)

    1. Thank you Joe.
The Tarzan game has hit a reef for now. A bird has built a nest close to it inside my shed so trying not to interfere too much.

Interesting point about the flags though. But I do remember an iconic picture from the Falklands war where a marine was flying a union flag from the Ariel protruding from his Bergan. But I do know what you mean.

  7. Great job as usual Clint. Nice to see some more of the ordinary infantry - they are the bulk of the fighting force after all! :)

    1. Thank you Mathyoo. I agree there should be more standard troops than specialists. I have just found a few more for some more rag tag troops and then I have all the troops I need for now (I think). So I should get then finished this weekend and can then start on some terrain.
