I will show you some of the games later in the week. For now however just a simple look at my loot. As you can see it was another restrained shopping trip. I felt that there was a lack of traders for me but I can see a few mail orders to keep them busy. So what did I get and why:( in no particular order)
- Well there was an Osprey book "British fortifications in Zululand 1879" The Osprey collection grows and this may be of use next year when I paint my Zulu army. (Dave Lancaster Books)
- a 20mm WW2 Italian Rifle Squad. It occurred to me that I like WW2 and now I have some more boards it would be a shame not to do a game. (Early War Miniatures)
- 28mm Fu Man Chu (Ironclad miniatures) I knew I wanted this figure but I'll be darned if I can remember why.
- 20mm Britannia Modern British Metal detector soldier. Just to round out my UK vs Taliban Afghan army. (Grubby Tanks)
- Two Resin Vehicles and a spare man ( Grubby Tanks) These will be the start of my 20mm 8th Army figures. Quite excited by these so I hope to start painting one this week. Is this a new project, well I just don't know I have 20mm WW2 but not this theatre so I'll let you decide.
A Quick post today. Thanks for stopping by and with luck I should get some mojo back now. Enjoy the rest of your weekend (I know very little of it left now) And I will try to post soon. All the best and Take care you. Cheers Clint.
Well despite the no-shows it sounds like you had a top time and that's a fine haul you've got there. You certainly can never have enough WW2 as I paint and game that from 10mm-40mm :-) Looking forward to seeing the vehicles painted up and Fu Manchu (if you can recall why you needed him). Thanks for posting, and hope to see the show photos next week.
ReplyDeleteNo idea why I wanted Fu. I just know I did have an idea for him a while ago. I just can't remember what for. (Call it a senior moment).
DeleteThanks Blax. I am looking forward to doing the vehicles.
A pleasure as always old boy!
ReplyDeleteVery much a great pleasure for me old bean.
DeleteI think it's important to use some of the good feelings from a show to start painting up the purchases, before it all gets too much to handle. Or maybe that's just me - I typically only attend 1 show per year and consequently tend to have a big shopping list, the results of which can be quite intimidating when unpacked back at home!
ReplyDeleteAnd I bet the 'grand haul' posting you need to blog to show us all your goodies takes a fair while as well :-)
DeleteI find if I buy too much very little gets painted. But if I only buy a little I happily work through it all.
DeleteThanks Guys
Good to see you again Clint, You should have come and had that cuppa I said, Ian was paying!!!!
ReplyDeleteAs a none tea drinker, (or coffee) going for a cuppa seems a little pointless to me but I probably should have gone for a chat
DeleteThank you Ray
Top quality swag there Clint, looking forward to see the pictures of the games now.
ReplyDeleteThere were some good games there (and some less well presented games) I will post them up most likely Tuesday.
DeleteThank you Michael.
Nice little haul dude!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see pics of the show.
Thank you Bob. I'll do the show pics on Tuesday.
DeleteVery impressively restricted purchases, (Mr Fu is undoubtedly a secret Xmas present for someone 9*wink, wink, nudge, nudge)
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent idea. Thanks Joe. But will have to be a secret present from Santa.
DeleteFresh lead warms the heart, even if it belongs to other people. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Millsy I feel sure there are a couple of things which will get done on the hurry up.
DeleteGood to see you as always. And a big thank you for the book on the SAS. I'll start reading that today. Glad to see the WWII bug is rubbing off on you too!
ReplyDeleteMutually good to see you and the other Rejects, (even Postie). No worries on the book I have read it twice and thought you might enjoy it. As I said I don't need it back so dispose of if not your cuppa tea. WW2 is always good wargames stuff for those of us that grew up reading "Commando" comics. Thank you Lee.
Delete"I knew I wanted this figure but I'll be darned if I can remember why."
ReplyDeleteDo you ever get the feeling you are getting old? :D
Me getting old! Does that mean I have to grow up?
DeleteThank you Mathyoo you young whippersnapper you!
Thats a great haul chap and I do like the Zulu War Fortification book, must did my copy out at some time.
ReplyDeleteA small haul I came back with £75 in my pocket! The things I wanted just were not there in any numbers, or I knew I could get them cheaper in one case online. Thanks Petal.
DeleteRestrained can be good especially when nothing really grabs you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mate. I do have a tendency to buy too much and of the wrong type. So I am actually very pleased with my spending.
