BUF (Part 9) Sniper

Well they all go back to Matt tomorrow so there will be no group shot. But they are all finished and boxed and ready for transit. so he will get first look, as so he should. But they are all photographed, just in case I forget my camera tomorrow I will have something to blog come Monday. But here is a sneak peek.

A single figure of a BUF sniper. I am afraid I do not know the make but I think it has had a head swap anyway. It was great fun to paint the camouflage Ghillie suit. Just a single colour (Camo Green by GW) with a black wash and a highlight. Then a mix of different greens and browns on each of the tassels to break up the outline

Right this was an unscheduled blog post. so I hop you were not expecting too much or too many figures, just the one today.

All the best Clint.

Post script: I have added a different pic to my last post as the camera light was just that little bit brighter.

    1. Thanks Michael. If I had painted the ghillie suit properly the figure would be just blend into the background and not be seen. maybe I should do that for the analogue painting challenge this year. Save me having to paint a figure!!

    1. Cheers Ray. Obviously the camo is a pastiche as I still want to see the figure. But really was fun to do.

  6. Great Sniper which will make those Fascists a little more deadly. Strangely with have had a little bit of a discussion about Snipers, mines and flamethrowers and there use in VBCW. Seems most think snipers are okay but mines and flamethrowers very unBritish.

    1. Thanks Pete. I have not given much thought to mines and flamethrowers in VBCW or indeed snipers until I painted this one. I agree though they do not fit the spirit of the game somehow. "Unsporting" players and Cads will no doubt disagree.

  7. Great looking figure and paint-job; I still can't help thinking that there's some dastardly plan afoot (probably with you as the target)

    1. Thanks Bob. I found out today that the figure is by "Great war Miniatures" I honestly had no idea. Matt has said maybe Anglican league next then perhaps socialists.

    1. Thank you C6. I am now wondering if some of the greens might be a little bright, but it is too late to change it now. As for him looking useful I think he looks alright.
