Wolf Runners

I can only (at this  stage) find 1 pack of wolf runners.  But I think I have 2 more hidden away so there may well be more to come in a week or maybe 2. But I am very likely with Christmas approaching to get side tracked onto another project). But here with very poor lighting are 2 Wolf Runners for SotTR.Both are SMG armed along with knives grenades and yes even fangs. I have used both "Oak Leaf" spring and autumn camouflage simply because my force is about equally split between the two patterns. Although the "orange" has not really come out very well this time, but I cannot see me repainting it.

Each figure comes in 3 parts, head, body and right arm, so a fair amount of variation is possible but not all that likely. But they are at the very least 2 more figures I will not need to paint again all that quickly. Which is not to say I do not like them but that I eel they could be better.

That is it for today. I can see one base that needs to be re-painted (don't all look for it!) and then a quick varnish and then I have some rules to read.

So until next time, take care, have fun and  Paint if you are in the mood.

All the best from Kent!

  1. Nice paint jobs on two very interesting figures. I don't have any werewolf figures for my SOTR German forces but it is only a matter of time before that is rectified.

    1. Thanks Bryan. I only have some because the company mislabled them. I sent for HMGs and they sent these. I complained and they kept telling me to keep them. I think It happened 3 times in all but did eventually get what I wanted.

  2. Lots to enjoy with these minis Clint, and those camos are nicely done. Like Bryan, I don't actually own any but will clearly have to rectify that situation at some stage :-)

    1. THanks Simon. As mentioned in Bryans reply I have never bought any Wolf Runners. But I am happy to have them.

    1. Thank you Paul. I find many of the hands to be very small compared with other ranges, but generally I Like the range as well.

  5. Lovely job on these Clint. Some of the nicer sculpts that come out of the SOTR range

    1. Thank you Simon I do find the SOTTR sculpts to be very hit and miss. Some are great others less than great. But all better than I could do.

  6. Hmm, I think I must have missed something, as I'm not familiar with either "wolf runners" or "SotTR" (though I can have a pretty good guess about both!)

    1. Thank you C6. Secrets of the third Reich was a game system that very quickly went out of "Fashion"! A combination of reasons I suspect. While the seting is dynamic the rules (In MY opinion) were not so good and the figure range (again in my opinion) was inconstant, with some brilliant figures and some shall we just say not brilliant figures.

  7. SotTR and general weird wars has always been a very onscure interest to me, but having seen several films on similar buject I can see the fascination.
Whils knowing nothing little to nothing of the genr, I'm sure these will fit in well and it's a good idea to limitoneself with only a couple ofcamo variations imo.
    great brushwork as always Clint.

    1. Thank you Joe, In honesty I should JUST have one cammo scheme. I painted one lot Oak leaf autumn and then decided to paint the next lot Oak leaf spring. And then was too lazy to repaint the originals. I may one day but I suspect I will not!
