2 Little Indians

Yes 2 28mm "Redoubt" woodland Indians.

While I do not think the sculpts are the very best I do appreciate the prices. They work out at £1.40 per figure and at that price who can possibly complain. I still have a few left to paint so when it gets quiet I will paint some more.

Both carry daggers in addition to their main weapons so they look like they know what they are doing, even if I am in charge and the reality is that they have no idea!

I do struggle when painting "Warpaint" as I just cannot imagine it properly. I am however keeping to just 4 colours (Red, white, black and ochre) as I believe they would be the correct colours but I have NO evidence for that.

As mentioned I do have more of these to do and I will be getting some more as well as it turns out I have none with bow and arrow. And that just seems wrong!

That's it for now more in a day or two.

I am undecided what to put on next, an AAR or some more figures. If you have a SATRONG preference mention your choice in the comments.

All the best Clint

  1. AAR!!! I like these a lot Clint, good skin tones and the warping works!

    1. Thanks Andy. As mentioned I do struggle with warpaint. Never know what patterns I can use or will look wrong/unconvincing.

  2. At £1/40, what's not to like? (I do agree that they're not te best of sculpts and the stances are a little strange too.)
Nice paintjob on them too, though I can't comment on the war-paint, even though I do have some good reference material.

    1. Thank you Joe. Although the sculpts are not the best they are surprisingly good to paint. I am not sure why, they just are. I am beginning to think the warpaint is a struggle due to my unfamiliarity with doing it and not anything inherently wrong.

    2. I do like painting Redoubt figures Clint. They might not look all that unpainted but they do paint up very easily and always look good, Nice one!

  3. Wonderful little duo Clint, and at a good price. I rather like the poses as they look like the pantherish hunters I also imagine them to have been.
