A place in Country. (15mm)

here are 2 of Frontlines (http://www.frontlinewargaming.co.uk/) 15mm jungle huts.

Suitable for many jungle locations across the world. While these are both the same 2 varieties do exist. I will be using them for both Pacific War PBI and "AK47 Republic" . Just because the difference between African Jungle and Asian or Pacific jungle in wargames terms is minimal. Not minimal in reality, but only n the wargames setting

Very easy painting, (grey undercoat, dark brown wash then sand yellow highlights.) probably too about 10 mins not including drying time. I painted them in this way as I wanted the grey to be in evidence. (Wood turns grey with age... just look at garden fences).

2 quick and easy additions. I have already asked Tim for 2 more which I shall get in a couple of weeks.

I have a little more Jungle terrain to make (Hope to this week) then pretty much finished (Famous last words)

That's it for today, very quick and simple and another post in 2 days as I am about to start the Arabs for the carry on follow that camel game.

Stay safe and happy. best wishes Clint

    1. Thank you Dave. Easy to paint and easy to get on the table. Which is what most of us want.

    1. Thank you Andy. Yes very simple. but I don't think they need more. You can see what they are and they will look OK on the table.

  4. Yep, I agree with the other comments, above. Couple of nicely turned-out terrain pieces. Certainly will work for both Asian or African jungle on the tabletop.

So which one will contain the US POW interrogation for your 'Nam raiders to liberate? Our do you favouring GI patrols over Special Forces raids for you Vietnam games, Clint?

    1. Thank you Roy. Alas my Vietnam stuff is a larger scale so would look very odd next to these. So these are most likely WW2 pacific buildings.

    2. Ah yes, 20mm, when I find the past blog posts. Just done a quick internet search through SHQ and Britannia's webstores but couldn't spot any Vietnamese civilian figures, which is a shame. Does any other company produce such in 20mm, do you know?

    3. Try RAFM (they do) or east riding miniatures (makes platton 20) or wartime Miniatures, or Elhiem Miniatures or.... actually they are quite hard to find and you have to look at obscure manufacturers! But patience does pay off.

Personally I have bought no 20mm Vietnam Civies. But who knows for the future.

If you are starting Vietnam from fresh I would look at 15mm. or maybe even 10mm. It all depends on the level of action you want.

Squad I would go either 20-28mm
      Platoon I would go 20-15mm
      Company I would go 10-15mm

It all depends on the rules you like and the size battle you want.

  5. They have turned out really well, Clint. You are so right about wood turning grey. Good to see you acknowledging this.

    1. Thank you Bryan. As one looks around the world one sees things and it is good to bring them into the hobby. It just looks more realistic that way.

  7. Straightforward the technique may be but I've seen plenty get it wrong. You haven't Clint, so tip top marks on these little buildings :-)
