Bengal lancers again

I handed back a load of figures to Matt yesterday and the photos just have not come out. So whining aside here are some more Bengal Lancers.

6 in all and he tells me this is them all painted now. (until he either buys some more or finds some hidden away.). The models are either Perry or Foundry, he did tell me but the memory is not what it was.

The horses legs were very bendy as were the lances but other than that they were no problem to assemble. The problem is on the other side so you cannot see it. But trust me it is there.

Not my favourite things to paint nor actually my least favourite either but not something I would choose to paint for myself. (Those will be later this week, and yes one is another zombie). These will help Matt bolster his North West Frontier collection and  we are already talking about a game. So you should get to see them on the table before the end of the year.

That's it for today. I am still kicking myself about not photographing all the Egyptians (Colonial) I painted, but nothing I can do now so in my head trying to move on and get past this.

Take care, have fun and paint/game as much as you can.

All the best Clint

  1. They are not something I would want to paint either, but you've done a first class job on them. Far better than I would have done!

    1. Thank you Joe. I can confirm they are quite delicate. Not figures you can treat roughly.

  4. Yes, I can understand that the photo problem would be a tad annoying. Still, least you got some decent shots of these brave lads! Nicely painted, by the way.

What are the bags hanging from the rear left of the house saddle furniture, do you know?

    2. Thank you Roy. With reference to the bags I just do not know the answer I am afraid. So I painted them as sacks and will let Matt do the research.

As for the spelling I am Dyslexic so I did not notice and even when pointed out I had to check it twice. So never worry on my blog!

    1. Thanks Addict. Yeah it is not what happens most often, but how one deals with it.

    1. Thank you Ray. Matt has already taken them and they should fit in quite nicely with his other troops. Personally I am just glad they are finished. No problem doing more but I want a break of about 3 months from Bengal lancers... Back to Burpas I think.

    1. Thank you Michael. Bengal lancers are a memory to me due to the old Airfix kit and no collection in real life. I cannot even claim I had the kit. (But I think I did!)

  11. Cracking riders Clint, I do enjoy your commentary too, as you always seem inclined to berate yourself about life's little mishaps and yet they are always accompanied by some corkingly painted minis - a great combination which always raises a smile :-)

    1. Thank you for the kind words Simon. As I wait for the postman to deliver more paint I can tell you without a doubt it will be Deepones tomorrow.

As for my comments. I know I an paint quite well but I also know I can be so much better. I think it is that we all see our own faults more acutely than others seem them in us. At least if you are self aware.
