With my usual level of inefficiency I wandered the show taking pictures of anything that caught my eye. Some games were not labelled on the day so I simply gave up trying to identify things. So my advice is just enjoy the scenery and reminisce if you were there and take whatever inspiration you can from this random selection of games at Salute 2013.
If you have any questions or want me to try to identify a particular game (a small chance I will be able to but I am happy to try.) Just leave a comment. I did not take many of the Waterloo game simply because I KNOW it will get a huge amount of coverage.
I will do one more Salute post on Wednesday dedicated to the bloggers and the Zombie Bloggers Association. So I would advise those of a nervous disposition or those with small children to skip my blog on Wednesday and Thursday and pick it up again on Friday.
If you have gotten as far as reading all this Well done, I would have just looked at the pics!
Have a good few days and I hope to see you all again in 2 days time.
All the best Clint
Great pics mate, really good.
ReplyDeleteCheers Mate, with luck it gives a flavour of the show.
DeleteThanks for the pics and even though it's pretty difficult to recognise the period in a lot of them, I still managed quite a few; particularly liked the 3D Snits and Labotomus.
ReplyDeleteSometimes at shows it is the terrain more than the period I am interested in.
DeleteAs for the "Snits" and the "Labotomous" it's always good to meet a Thom Wham Fan, great game circa 1986-87. (I still have the Dragon Magazine version!)
Great eye candy here Clint. Glad all of you got to get together at the show and have some fun.
ReplyDeleteEvery one I met at the show was a really nice person. I should have labelled some of the pictures so that non wargames Geeks had a chance to identify them a bit more. SO on Wednesday I will do a post on the things I have learnt from the show. As well as the "ZBA" meet..
DeleteGreat pictures Clint; I completely missed that 'above the clouds' game!
ReplyDeleteHaving seen others pictures I know I missed a couple of games as well. Happens at a big show sometimes.
DeleteGreat pics Clint and it was good to meet up again on Saturday :)
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad I recognised you. As ever Tamsin A joy to speak with you.
DeleteNice pics mate, I'm still sorting through mine! Me and Mathyoo managed to get a quick go on the rooftop smog game, was a simple little game but quite fun for a quick participation one.
ReplyDeleteI must admit I am in two minds about that game, I like the concept but something left me cold. I am glad you enjoyed it though. Maybe I should be more open.
DeleteOh, no no Clint, you've got it right. That my idea as well. It is just too simple/weird kind of simple kind of thing...plus the set up of "smog" would take ages. But our certain game was great fun, which is much owed to the guys presenting it - they really kept the atmosphere up.
DeleteAlso, once again, nice to meet you and thanks for showing us around!
And quit avoiding talking about the fudge! See, next year you better surprise "us" (I hope I can make it "us" next year as well!) :D
Us? Mathyoo are you pregnant? Is there something I should know?
DeleteI read everything you write here Clint like no fudge or Fran is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe fact that Fran is wonderful is so apparent that it hardly needs saying at all.
DeleteGreat pics Clint! I seem to have missed quite a few of the games in your photos???
ReplyDeleteSalute is so big that it is easy to miss things. I know I did. (I think I missed a whole row of traders for a start. Sacrilege! Heresy!
