So what did I blow my "Hard earned" on? (Right to left)
- A very serious book about the conquest of the Aztecs, Incas and other tribal societies. I am tempted to do Donnybrook based around Hernan Cortes but first I thought to read up on it a bit! (Arrived home to comments like "Oh another book like you need that!")
- Army painter primer spray paint (a slight preparation for the Analogue painting challenge come December as I know I will have a fair few of one type of figure to paint! (I'll say no more at this stage)
- A single Magpie miniatures figure (which I hope to send across the pond as I think this is just the type of figure that Anne O'Leary would like!)
- A KR multicase! (This is Fran and Rays Fault as they guilted me into buying better protection for my figure the rotter's, )
- 5 Miss cast resin bases. From Gladius Game Arts, 10p Each so I though why not!
- 2 Packs of MDF bases from Colonel Bills.
- 1 Pack of Dixon Miniatures (again from Colonel Bills)... No Not Gangsters or Aztecs!
And that's all I spent and It would have been a lot cheaper without those pesky Rejects getting on my case about needing figure boxes. Fran says it would make you weep to see how I transport figures. And says he's going to do a blog post about it!
Cheers for Reading and with luck a quick show report tomorrow!
Take care hope to see you soon. All the best Clint.
Nice lootz Clint. I'm going through my pics at the moment to get them all resized for posting.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you gain mate.
Thanks Tams. I am quite pleased with all my swag. I can find a use for everything which is nice. I have a few wargames plans for the future and some serious reading to do.
DeleteGood to see you again, always a pleasure. And if you can make it down to the rejects again let me know when and you can see me throw a hissy fit when I loose!
No gangsters as I don't want anyone to think I am jumping on any carriage full of musicians. Cheers Dave
ReplyDeleteI was shocked sir, good to see you spending some money on a case though!
ReplyDeleteIt's all right I get a ribbing from some members of my own club as well. Hee hee.
DeleteI forgot your BMP1s Opps sorry.
Cheers Mate.
Post Script: I will need to pin you down for a game sometime!
It made me shudder seeing all them camel troops stuffed into that tiny box, all scratching up against each other!!!! Glad you've bought a bigger box!!!
DeleteThink I might use the box for something else now! Hee hee hee!
DeleteThank you Ray and It was nice to have the rejects in the same hall! (He says through clenched teeth!)
Between the fudge and the BMPs....sigh.........you old cat herder you!
DeletePostie has just called me a "Young Man!"
DeleteGod bless postie.
Just spoke to Ray as well and we want some dates that you can come out to play! Thanks Fran
No problem!
DeleteThat sounds like an interesting book, and with such nice covers. How much did it cost you? :D
ReplyDeleteAs for KR cases, I have to support your decision. I bought two (and a fabric case to put them in :P) for my FOW armies and I have to say they were useful - I'll try to repurpose them for 28mm miniatures now :P
The book is more interesting that you would first realise! It is the 1963 translation of "Conquest of new Spain" by Bernal Diaz. (Born 1492). As for it's cost I'm pleased to say only £2.
DeleteAs for the case I shall tackle the putting of figures away tomorrow.
Thank you Mathyoo.
A very restrained show on the shopping front. I know what you mean about cases I never spend any money on them either.
ReplyDeleteGood to know I am not alone on the figure case front! Thank you Robert.
DeletePerfectly wonderful swag, although I'm curious as to what colour the primer is.
ReplyDeleteThe colour primer is a dark brown. If I say "Fousands-of-em" Will it give it away> Thank you Michael.
DeleteCongratulations Clint on qhat appears to be a very restrained amount of loot, but I am intrigued by the "mystery figures".
ReplyDeleteAhh the Mystery Dixon Figures..... ahhh yes they are a potential Zombie game idea. Zombies vs Martial artists...... only an idea at present but sounds like such a bad film idea it might well be very funny!
DeleteThanks Jo!
The Mystery figures are martial artists. Just a whim of an Idea which may never take off. Thanks joe.
DeleteWell Fran has "threatened to do a whole blog post on it!
ReplyDeleteThank you Loki.
Nice little loot pile mate. What are the magpie miniatures I tried googling them but couldn't work out what was what?
ReplyDeleteI only got a single figure. A young Girl with a Dragon pet. They are from a German sculptor. Easiest way to find them is to look up (British) Brigade Games. AS they are now stocked by them. I say British Brigade games as there is also an American Brigade games. If you can't find Brigade Games look up Aeronef.
DeleteThank you Simon.
Oooh something for me? That's so very sweet of you to think of me. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteI may be very wrong, but I don't think it's a figure you will ever see in the States and it did look like the kind of thing you might enjoy. If when (if ) it arrives and you don't like it no worries at all. Just when I saw it I thought of you and as it will cost much more in postage than the figure cost I just thought why not! I think I have your address, if not I bet I can scrounge it!
DeleteAnd you are more than welcome.
Magpie Miniatures? All I'm getting for that from Google is doll's house accessories from Inverness! I'm glad you explained how to find them in the answer to Simon above. Hmm, a bit "cute" for my liking, but still interesting...
ReplyDeleteHappy to help. I appreciate these figures are not ever going to be everyone's cup of tea. Cheers C6.
