They don't like it.... yeah we all know!

Yeah we all know how that line goes and it is very common for wargamers to utter the immortal lines. They did have great script writer back then but that is really no excuse! These figures were hidden from me last time I painted my 10mm Sudan figures up, they have since re-emerged from the "put somewhere safe" place and now had some paint slapped on them.

So today I am pleased to have finished another 9 stands of 10mm Beja from Pendraken. Who are rapidly becoming one of my favourite figure manufacturers.

All painted and based to fit in with my existing colonial SUDAN figures. So they should give the forces of the Mahdi a little bit more of a punch.

That's just a very quick update for today and at least it's a few more painted figures and lets be honest the Mahdi can do with more troops which may mean I can paint more British troops (eventually).

Thanks for popping by and with luck I may get something in the mail.

Have a good few days and I'll post again soon.
All the best Clint

  1. I can see how easy it would be to have a real "horde" army in 10mm. Sooo tempting, after seeing what you're doing in this scale...

    1. I am converted to 10mm I really am. Yes there are limits like skirmish games or lack of figure options but as a Scale I really do like it.

      Thank you C6

  2. I know the feeling about having figures stored "someplace safe", I'm pleased it's not just me!
Always nice to get another unit finished, have we had a group shot of the total forces yet ?

    1. There was a group shot of the Mahdi's forces back on 8th February 2014. So this is just another 9 bases added to that picture. I will no doubt do a picture of the British troops when I start on the 10mm Zulu's. Or indeed the Mahdi's forces again when I think about doing the 1882 Egyptians.

Thanks Joe. Several players at my club have to smuggle troops in to their houses or leave them with a friend or even get them delivered to their work place. So they quite often "re discover" missing figures!

  3. It is amazing just how much detail there is on figures of such a small size. Good work on painting them up and adding to your army.

    1. Thank you Bryan. Pendracken also make 10mm Zombies and survivors! No plans from me to start in that scale as well but you could do a meta horde!

    2. Or I could just stick with 28mm scale and continue on my way to 1,000 zombies with every one unique. I really do not want to start collecting figures in a new scale.

    1. Put the wallet away and step away from the keyboard! Trust me 10mm is quite addictive. It is a slippery slope. Thank you Robert.

  5. They look great, Clint! I am certain I have a battalion of troops and a motorpool of Vic's squirreled away in that dreaded" safe place"
I'll remember where it is, but probably only after I bought it all again! ;)

    1. That sounds so familiar.
Yes you Buy it all again, put it somewhere safe, find the others and then the place is so safe that 1 day later you just can't find it again!
      Thank you David.

  6. I don't know if you'll see this so I'll pop by again next time you post.

I got her in the mail! Oh is she ever cute and she looks like me when I was a rotten little girl! I don't have your email elsewise I would have contacted you that way.

I dislocated my shoulder and won't be back online again till next month.

    1. Thanks for letting me know Anne. I saw that figure and thought of you. No pressure so if you don't want to paint it no worries. I don't want it back at all. Just treat it as a gift. Take care and get well soon.

    1. I do find 10mm figures easy to paint. And for Horde armies they are a lot cheaper than 15mm. Thanks mate.
