NAC SQUAD 1

Very occasionally I get some 15mm Stargrunt painted. It is a long process and one from which I do get side tracked incredibly easily! But now as I have finished my FSE (Federal States Europa) Platoon I have started my NAC (New Anglican Confederation) forces. At present I do not have much but I can see it expanding rapidly in the run up to Christmas.

While I prefer the look of the Ghurkha Squads and will be concentrating on them it is always worth having some normal squads. And this is a Normal squad.

8 men in a squad mostly armed with the L7a3 Individual weapon. (Advanced Assault rifle with grenade launcher). 2 support weapons are also with each squad, far right is a L5 Binary propellant light machine gun and (one in from the right) is a L18 Portable guided missile launcher.

I have yet to do a squad transport for them, but expect that this week.

The figures are Ground Zero Games ( https://shop.groundzerogames.co.uk/ ) 15mm Stargrunt figures. Painted for a desert world (In my Head Called "Burnett's Folly") so a couple of stripes of camouflage on the outfits and some light green to break up the guns. (Yes I could have painted the guns the same as the uniforms but decided that a little contrast might be a good thing.)

And when I get a platoon sized force complete I will happily do a group shot.

Thanks for looking today, all the best Clint

  1. Nice stuff Clint, and I certainly approve of making the guns a different colour to the uniforms. Looking forward to that squad transport next week, and your future efforts to attain a platoon sized force (for that group shot)!!

    1. Thank you Michael. Although I feel like I am a long way from getting the force completed. I know if I spent a little time and money (and a fair amount of effort) I could get them done in a month-6 weeks.

  3. I like how you have painted them. I'd like them a lot more, however, if they were 28mm scale! ;-)

    1. LOL Thank you Bryan. There are a number of advantages to each scale. While 28mm looks good for Stargrunt, it fills up the table very quickly with little or no room to move. And then you might as well be playing 40K. Yes one answer would be to get a bigger table, but you can still only reach so far and for Sci Fi Games one does not want to have guns that only fire 12".

    1. Thank you Michael. Side Tracks are the bane of all wargamers. I did get side tracked again today. It resulted in an impulse buy which I am starting to regret. But only a few quid so nothing to worry about really.

    1. Thank you Ray. We will have to agree to disagree. While 15mm figures do have a place in wargaming they are not the true size.

  6. You do get through a wide variety of miniatures, don't you, Clint :-) ? Very nice, as usual.

    1. Thank you Hugh. I have many varied and eclectic tastes. These are a project from many ears ago that has now started to come to fruition. Well that is until I get side tracked again.
