I searched out my old Judge Dredd figures this morning. And considering They were painted back in 1984-86, some 30 years ago I still think they look pretty good. I do not have as many as I thought though, but I still have enough. I have 5 Street Judges (Both mounted and on foot) and about 10 other figures some of which I had forgotten I owned.
They all have some minor scratches and one does have a broken Lawgiver (gun) but considering their age I do not think too bad at all.
So maybe a bit of a repaint before I settle on a game at the club.
As you can see bases do need work but as a basis to start a force what could be better.
I have never used a Dark Judge or a Klegg in a game so It might be good to give them an outing.
Colour wise I have gone for the comic book colours as seen in the comics and NOT mentioned in the text.
Anyway thanks for looking. and I should give a shout out to Bryan at Link
So That is it for today and with luck I will get the Klintanistan game going over the weekend so look out for an update soon.
Excellent vintage models. Few touch ups where needed and you've a nice little force.
ReplyDeleteThanks Roy, the ouch ups have yet to happen. But I think they will and then look out... I feel like a game.
DeleteHow wonderful to see these old Citadel figures again. I have them all and it was quite a big range of figures. Your paintwork and colour schemes are just fine. Many thanks for showing these. I really appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bryan, there are a few chips and scratches that I can paint over and a few things I can paint better like faces so It would be good to bring them up to date. The Bad news is though I have found my PARANOIA figures and they may head over to eBAY... but first to check the prices.
DeleteNow you've got me looking for my own Paranoia figures. Many of them would make good perps in a Judge Dredd game. I see possibilities here!
DeleteYes mate me too!
DeleteGreat figures Clint! Hard to believe they're as old as me!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ray. I would worry if they were as old as Postie!
DeleteWhat a wonderful trip down memory lane, Clint and some nicely painted minis imho. As you say a quick touch-up presumably here and there and you have a fine force with which to game with. Great to see the old-time "Citadel" minis getting a new lease on life.
ReplyDeleteThank you Blax. They are on the back burner, but at least they are now on the burner!
DeleteNice old figures Clint :)
ReplyDeleteDid Foundry take on that range? I know that they have various Judges on foot that look like the ones on the lawmasters, but sadly not the lawmasters
Thanks Tamsin Foundry do some Dredd figures, but not a huge range. Without looking I cannot be sure.
DeleteWhat amazing miniatures, great to see these Clint.
ReplyDeleteThank you Michael. A story of a well spent youth perhaps.
DeleteI started gaming about the time you painted these Clint. What lovely figures they are too mate, back in the day when Citadel produced a wide range of minis from all games/genres. Lovely
ReplyDeleteThank you Andy. So very true about GW. But then they went more commercial and only make and use figures for warhammer.
ReplyDeleteThat lot must have cost you a forutne 'back in the day', one of the reasons I only every bought one!
ReplyDeleteThey do look good though, but I think I went with gold on my judge - maybe you could spruce your own up with a quick gold highlight ?
Thank you Joe I do remember a lot of grant money (back when students did get grants) was spent of figures. So perhaps you are very correct in what you say.
DeleteAs for the Gold, for me that is a NO. I like the yellow as comic books did not use gold ink in that period so I will keep it to yellow and blue and not gold and black. It is all personal choice of course and if you prefer the gold and black more power to you.
