yes I did think of a funny title but after so many sheep puns I just could not do it! So here are a few Mouflon sheep models painted up and now put away.
The figures are by warbaes and will be used in En Garde games as objectives and things to steal and or maybe rescue from other bands. As such there are 2 adults (the ewe's also have horns btw) and 4 lambs. Yes one lamb is a different colour that was intentional.
Right at the end is a picture of this rare breed so you can see the actual colours, hopefully they are not too different! At least that is my intention.
I should do another post in a few days to show you the Zulus I have painted so far.
Until then take care have fun and try not to shiver too much!!
Baa!
ReplyDeleteHumbug!
DeleteGreat to see these finished Clint :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon. I finished something else for the AHPC last night as well.
DeleteGood to see sheep in proper uniforms with photo ID
ReplyDeleteThe worst offenders are the Gripping Beast Loaghtan Sheep from the Isle of Man. I agonised over painting them more than any hussar or highlander because I've seen them. The lambs are easy because they're chocolate brown but they adults are - well it's hard to say. Most painted versions I've seen are clearly painted without looking at the originals.
Not meant as a rant but as a well done - they look splendid and worth the effort of doing something right and something different. It's also a reminder that I've some of these sheep models half painted to get back to finishing!
Stephen
Thank you Stephen. No worries I have NOT TAKEN IT AS A rant. I AM delighted that you like them and do appreciate the comment. But thanks must go to Google for pointing me the way that they are supposed to look or I would be clueless.
DeleteMiiiinntt Saauuce! ;)
ReplyDeleteNice sheepies Clint :)
Thank you Tamsin. I should finish some sci fi tonight!
DeleteI have nothing but praise for the way you have painted these, Clint. They would fit in so well in so many genres and settings.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bryan. Without any false modesty I am happy with the results.
DeleteVery nice. I'll have to see if I can find some sheep miniatures suitable for Swaledale sheep for my own collection - either that or tell Stu he should really make some of our local breed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Roy. First I would check with warbases and maybe even suggest it to them you just never know they may say yes! I am no sheep expert but I would think something would do. It all depends on what sort of games you are planning. VBCW, Viking,ECW War of the roses etc could all use sheep. But as to what type I could not say.
DeleteNice work and a possible commentary on some of humanity now?
ReplyDeleteThank you Fran, not sure what you mean! I could guess but Nature is funny like that!
DeleteNice to see the objectives, scenery getting attention Clint. I bought a load of warbases animals since meeting you guys up at Sittingbourne and seeing Matt's chickens (not a euphemism) on your demo board, I still haven't put them on the painting table, this may well get them on.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andy there SHOULD be some more animals from me in the next week or two. I have cattle and chickens to paint yet. Maybe I will do my chickens in the hope it will urge you on to doing your own.
DeleteGreat job Clint, I could do with some more of these myself.
ReplyDeleteThank you Michael. I find the whole range very useful and even dare I say charming.
DeleteGreat additions to any game, (more or less)
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe. we all need some animals in our games.
