Cavalier games. (2017)

My Game
Blood Bilge and Iron balls.
1/2400thscale
Here are some Pics of the Gmaes at Cavalier this year. They are not in any order and I have tried to identify them as best I could given the little time I had away from the game.

We only had a crew of 3 for the game so one person was allowed to see the show while the other two played. Mostly it worked. And worked well. And that was in no small part due to Richard sitting in for about an hour. But I will discuss that when I do an AAR.

So here are the games.

Society of ancients

Anti-Alchemists
"Calvados and chips" WW2

And back to the beginning wit my game

I apologise to the Maidstone club but only 1 pic came out. I did not take a pic of the Peter Pig game either.

Check out the other blogger who were there I saw 5 in all so there will be more pics along on different blogs in the coming days.

All the best.

  1. That first picture of your game looks really good, Clint. And I Like how the SOA labelled the scaled measurement for metres and figure ratio, a very simple but effective thing to do and it certainly helps me appreciate the photos.

    1. Thank you Roy. Scale of troop and ground measurements I will admit me little to me in regard to a game. I suspect it is easier for me to stick with modern and Skirmish games for that very reason.

  2. Great looking show. Any idea what ruleset the SEEM's Zombie game was using?

    1. Thank you Simon, Unfortunately time to chat and time to buy were limited and as you can see I choose to buy! (SEEM s should be at another local show in about 3 weeks so I can ask then)

  3. I think that has to be one of the best shows I've seen pics of for the sheer variation of games, both in size and scale; I particularly like the look of the Vietnam game,
How was your own game recieved - it looks like it was being played - a feature which I like at shows, but they're rarely rarely enthralling.

    1. Thank you Joe. There were a nice mix of games.
I also did like the Vietnam game but could not follow it at all. It was literally take the pics and move on.

As for my own game. I do intend to do a report on it. We did have a couple of guys sit down (we had a few spare seats) and watch and chat for up to 90 mins as they both had bought the rules previously but neither had read the rules at all.
I am confident that they will try the rules.

    1. Thank you Michael. Those two games caught my eye as well. However the terrain did seem a little spares on both the boards for my liking.

  7. An eclectic mix of games being played there. I particularly liked the look of the zombie game for obvious reasons.

    1. Thanks Bryan. Yes Zombie games are always of interest. While there is nothing at all wrong with the terrain I personally would have liked it less open and more built up!

    1. Thank you Lee. You are right very little time (and mostly at the end of the day. Just shoot and scoot I could only take 2 pics of each table so editing was easy!

A pleasure to see you Ray and Postie..... hmm pleasure may be the wrong word where Ray and postie are concerned.

    1. Thank you C6. I am in 2 minds whether to do a write up of the game. Not that it was bad in any way but just apathy on my part.
