Firstly I could have bought more, but only stuff I am partially interested in so the swag is quite minimal. But here it is.
- 2 pots of Paint from Col Bill. I always need paint and so these just replenish 2 holes in my painting palette.(Link)
- an Emelia Airheart figure. Again from Col Bill part of the "Belt Fed" range. She is for Dieselpunk and no more about that for at least 1 week I think.
- 2 15mm Jungle Huts from Tim at Frontline miniatures. (LINK) these are to serve at least 2 purposes. Firstly with some conversion as WW2 Pacific Island huts, 2ndly for AK47 republic. by Peter Pig. I still prefer the old rules as opposed to the new ones (as I am told many people still do!)
- 20mm Arabs on Foot. These are IT Miniatures (Link) and I hope to be using these in a few weeks. Who Knows maybe I shall. Look forward to seeing them painted this week.
- 20mm French foreign legion. Again IT Miniatures use the link above. These are not for sale commercially yet though. And again I do intent to paint them up in the next week or two. So expect to see them soon.
Overall I had a minimum spend. I really did as I had painted some figures for Peter at the club and he covered the cost of all my spends in exchange for painting the figures for him.
So overall the show cost me nothing, and I was able to pass some figures on as well so good news all around as far as I can see.
Lovely post, Clint, with some good swag on show, and plenty of hints as to some forthcoming posts too. Sounds like a win win time was had too :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon. I had a fine day. Some loot and hardly any money passed hands. (ok maybe for drinks/snacks).
Deletethere are some BLATANT hints about the up coming games as well. And work on them will start very very soon. Just as soon as I get out of this straight jacket!grrrrrr
I'll be looking forward to seeing the Arabs and Frenchies painted up as i've been thinking of doing some myself for a couple of years. 20mm might fit the bill as I have the old airfix fort.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dannoc. I find that 15mm figs work best with the Arfix fort Sahara. (We use it in Sudan games) My working towards the FFL/Arab battles is the result of building an Afghani Village and trying to do the Arab Revolt. FFL seems to be the next logical step. If you do decide to do 20mm FFL IT miniatures/Tim would be a great place to start.
DeleteNice swag mate, looking forward to the show report as always :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Paul I will do a show report in a few hours. But a very good day, one in which I was able to think a fair amount about wargames.
DeleteIt very much looks like you had a good day out, Clint. I'm pleased for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bryan. Indeed a very good day. And I start the painting this morning before 6:30am.
DeleteCompared to my own feeble buys at Border Reiver, you have an abundance of buys. I do like the not-so-subtle hints at what will be forthcoming in some of your future posts too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe. Yes my not so subtle hints are well erhm not at all subtle.
Deleteperhaps I should have said "March or Die!" for the French foreign Legion, and them let readers work it out.
Nice loot haul dude.
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon. Small but well formed!
