The 54mm scale skirmish game looked interesting but none of the other games really grabbed my attention. Sorry, to be so negative.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bryan. You are not being negative at all. some shows are like that. Some shows you see loads and get inspired and some shows nothing grads your fancy. It just happens that way.
DeleteInteresting selection of games there, but for once, none of them really grab my attention.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe. There were some good games but mostly it was meh! I am sure you would have liked the Pax lipopo game If there were more Pics.
DeleteBut I doubt you will be so very inspired by my game either!
Nice pics of the games Clint :)
ReplyDeleteCheers Tamsin. Several ideas buzzing around the noggin at present. I should be able to focus by tonight and get some more painting done!
DeleteNice looking games. As a person with a couple of 54mm collections, it's neat to see one being played at a convention.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rod I know what you mean. I like 10mm figures but you so rarely see a game at a show in that scale. So I do understand what you mean.
DeleteSome great looking games there Clint, I'd love a collection of 54mm Zulu Wars figures, wow!
ReplyDeleteThank you Michael. Personally 54mm is not my scale. But I do appreciate it is a very good skirmish scale. While It would not suit me It is very pleasing to see different scales and armies.
DeleteI spent the day having a tooth extracted.......
ReplyDeleteThank you John. I realised towards the end of the day that you had not shown.
DeleteUnspiring it might have been but the gridded game was by the Old Guard club. I'll try to be more interesting next time, if we go again.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. My mistake entirely. No need to be more interesting, I really should have paid more attention.
DeleteI can only apologise for getting the name wrong. I should have chatted longer to each club.
Thank you so much for pointing out my mistake. I really do appreciate it.
It looks a lot like the smaller events you see in Canada - most of the games are, well, rather homely. I always thought you Brits did shows better ...
ReplyDeleteThe first game looked good .. maybe the Zulus hadn't show up yet?
Thank you Michael. It is a small local show and in some ways better because of that. In many ways the "Homely" games are better than "show stopper" games as they clearly show what can be done by the average wargamer.
DeleteI will put my own game on show tomorrow. And that really is a typical club game.
Spectacular tables, really impressive, thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteThe anarchic, off-the-wall flavour of Pax Limpopo has always appealed to me rather more than the traditional steampunk genre :-) . Still, I've yet to dip my toes into that water...
