2 things

My Sister on Khan (the horse)
at Hickstead this year.
Firstly a big congrats to my sister. She came 9th out of a field of 29 at Hicktead Horse Trials. She was competing in Dressage.  While 9th is not Olympic standard it is still pretty good. (FAR better than I could have even attempted to do!)

I do not mention my sister often as she has NO interest in my hobby.

And the Rosette for coming 9th
Can I ride a horse?.... I have learnt to cling on but I am in no way proficient.

Ok back to wargaming...... here is the start of Matt's Aeronef British fleet!

At this stage he has Far to many small aeronef and they have been a right paint to paint. But they are done now so I can put them out of my mind and get something else done.

below are a series of close ups of various class vessels. With the brown ones at the end being airships. I had to paint 3 times before I was happy with them.

That's it for today. Take care have fun and paint if the mood takes you.

best wishes Clint

  1. Many congratulations to your sister. That is quite an achievement.
It is always nice to see group shots of work you do, Clint, but I'm afraid this project does nothing for me. Sorry!

    1. Thank you Bryan. I fully understand if the project does not grab you. No one can like everything. And you do have some pretty diverse tastes. No one can accuse you of sticking to just one thing after all.

As for my sister, yes she's pretty good with horses (and dogs).

  2. I had my own horse and used to ride, so I fully appreciate your sister's achievement Clint, so please pass on my congratulations - I could never even remember the order of turns in the dressage arena!
Nice work on the Aeronef which I take it are very small models?

    1. Thank you addict. When it comes to horses I find a WIDE berth is best. I am sure they may be smarter than me.

As for Auronef, yes they are small and fiddly.

  3. Those aeronefs look good. But, not being awkward, I'm always surprised when I look at them and remember how large the models are - the larger vessels, that is. But then I'm used to very small naval stuff, so everything looks big in comparison.

My Godmother's daughter used to ride in competitions - can't remember the types - so I am familiar with events and the hard work that goes into such. Ninth out of Twenty-Nine is certainly something to congratulate - Top third of competitors, if you like.

    1. Thank you Roy. Yes my sister can ride a horse. Everyone in that 29 was at least county level. So I have to concede she is quite good.

As for the Aeronef. Yes they are small, most about 40mm long that I have shown today. (The 2 airships are considerably bigger though.)

  4. Congratulations to your sister for her accomplishment, the Aeronef are looking good, even if you had to repaint the airships several times

    1. Thank you Dave. I will pass everyone's best wishes to my sister. (Won't see her for a week tough).

As for the Aeronef, Looking back I am not unhappy with them and would not do them any differently. So that must be good!

    1. Thank you joe I don't often tell my sis how proud I am of her so I did this week. I just feel it need not be said, and that she knows it. Still tat is enough of the mushy stuff.

Just give me a few days and I will be OK with the ships, even rearing to do some more!

    1. Thank you Curt. Hickstead is a pretty big deal as far as I am aware. The horse is young so time will be the judge on how it progresses.

As for the Nefs. I HOPE something different tomorrow night rolls of the painting table!
