Zombtober (5) and LOOT

yes another of the Walking dead from "All out war" by mantic games. I  have struggled of late to  get much painting done at all. Mostly not in the mood so and I mean no offence to any involved I am glad that Zombtober is over. Maybe I can go back now to well you know! Or maybe you don't know.

Anyway here is the last of the Zombies for Zombtober I am pleased to have taken part but I am glad it is over for another 11 months. Although I do hope to take part next year.

The pics are dark because I took then before sun up this morning as I knew I would get no other chance.

Still another one done and put away and ready for a game now and all is right with the world. (or at least my very little corner of the world).

Last Pic is one for each week, just for contect and to see them all together and in one place. Not by any means a huge horde but just the start of a small herd. I hope next time to be in a painting mood and to get more things done, but I shall not beat myself up over the few I have managed.

And Finally and UNRELATED to Zombies I picked these figures up from Tim this morning for my first Bob force. It should be enough to get me a large enough force to get a game in, maybe 2. The figures are all IT miniatures and as I am a friend of the owner (Tim) I got quite a bargain. These shall go in the painting queue promptly and I look to have them all finished NEXT month.

That's it for now more again soon.

All the best Clint

  1. Great end to Zomtober, Clint, and what a corking group shoot too - those zeds look awesome up against your background - clearly not a street one would want to walk up :-)

Nice bit about IT Miniatures too. They're not a company I'm actually familiar with, but having looked on their website, they clearly do a fantastic WW1 range; who else does Massai!?! I fear such postings might lead me astray, but keep up the good work and lets see them castings with some paint on them :-)

    1. Thank you Blax. With regard to IT miniatures they are all old sculpts so many people will not like them. Tim is slowly sorting them out and replacing what need to be replaced. I think the Medical staff or the Horses will be next. (But do not quote me on that). I have gone for White Russians as I know they are OK sculpts and the molds are OK as well.

Back to Zombies. Painting wise I have not been in the mood, however I will get this box set finished eventually. So these are just the start and NOT the end of a project.

  2. Yep well done. I wasn't in the mood (painting mojo) for it last year so can understand where your coming from.

    Nice loot dude :)

    1. Thanks Simon. No one can be in the mood for it all the time. How boring would that person be? But the Mojo does return eventually.

As for the loot wait and see how it turns out. At this stage it is just unpainted metal. The next stage is the important one.

    1. Thank you Ray. I will be looking for an opposing force sooner or later so get your head scratching I have at least 15 Historical armies that could be involved. And these figures could be White or Red Russians or with a change of paint colour could even be Chinese. So there are many options which is what does excite me.

  4. Good work on all of the zombies. I hope you don't think you can only paint them during Zomtober. You can paint them anytime and I hope you do.

    1. Thank you Bryan. I will as stated above finish the box set. However as my painting mojo is not currently at its highest one cannot say when that will be. So expect some more intermittently!

    1. Thank you Michael. The trick is to turn nice looking shinnies into nice looking wargames figures. As for that time will tell.

    1. Thank you Citizen. I do hope to be involved next year as well even if I was somewhat lacking in out put this year. I scraped by with the minimum. But I did get there

    1. Thank you Dave. The BoB haul is quite impressive. As well as about 30 infantry I have 2 MGs and a piece of artillery for the Russians. As mentioned I will soon have to start thinking of another force. No idea what it will be yet though.

  10. In this case, the dark nature of the photographs works in you r favour, I think. There's a lot more menace to this group of figures when half-seen and with a decent background.

Like you, I'm in the painting doldrums at the moment, but hey - we made it! Zomtober is successful for another year :-) .

    1. Thank you C6. On wards and upwards. I have already started painting this week. I woke up wanting to paint. A couple of things started (but not for myself)

  11. Good to see you got to the end of ZOmtober (if it it seemed to methat you did it a bit grudgeingly) and the group shot proves that the effort was worthwhile (imo).
The BoB project looks like it's in full swing now - great project and I'll be in the wings looking on with interest.

    1. Thank you Joe. I would not say grudgingly at all. It was not though my primary interest in the time period. But getting them done is still worthwhile and I in no way regret it.

As for BoB. It will take at least 1 week before I get anything finished. (Longer most likely) But at least I an now get started and carry at least 1 force to completion.

  12. Great stuff.....I try not to fix my painting habits with the various events through the year, although I have no problem with people using them to motivate themselves, there just seem to be a lot of people loosing their motivation ? Anyway my phylosphy is paint what takes your fancy 😀

    1. Thanks Matt. I should have something finished very soon. I shall start painting at 6am though to get a few things finished left from last night. Little and often is the key for me.

  13. Cool. I always fancied doing a back of beyond force, and even bought the contemptible armies rules and b.o.b. supplement for them back when they came out. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do Clint
