Yes that sounds like a music album title for a cheap band from the 60's) I apologise if this was an album title, but you get the idea.
Firstly here is the remains of my German Aeronef fleet. You may recall I forgot to paint one when I did the rest. so that has now been rectified.
They are Van 7 German patrol nefs. (LINK to shop) They came as part of the German starter fleet and are now painted and with the others. (still trying to sort out bases I am happy with.)
But they are done so nothing to worry about too much for now.
The bottom pic is some figures I sent off for from Gripping Beast. I must say the service was exemplary. They arrived in their own card board box very fast indeed.
I have started the next unit and with luck I will finish them pretty soon but not this weekend. Generally the figures are very good and well suited to Dux Britaniarum. Buying direct from the maker was cheaper than eBay as well So expect to see the first unit of 6 middle of next week. Over all I am excited to paint them and assembling them was a pleasure and not a chore.
Hopefully an AAR on Monday, until then take care have fun and paint like crazy if you get the chance.
Lovely mix of genres, Clint, and its clear your enthusiasm seems to be running at a bit of a high currently. Nice to get the Aeronef remains done and move on to some plastic DA Warriors. I'm also looking forward to the AAR - I always like the way you write them up :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon. Very kind of you to say so. being dyslexic I very rarely did well at writing so your comment is very welcome indeed. Still it is a Saturday so back to painting.
DeleteGood to see you mixing it up Clint, cracking work s always.
ReplyDeleteThank you Michael. dark age figures this afternoon. Hope to get a unit (only 6 figures) done or near done
DeleteNice job on the Aeronef to finish them off, shall look forward to seeing the dark age figures
ReplyDeleteThank you Dave. I do not think you will need to wait long, I am now on the bases of the dark age figures.
DeleteI like the 'Nefs. I'm managing to resist the urge to collect them (for now) - France versus Spain, possibly, in either the Bay of Biscay, or the Gulf of Lion.
ReplyDeleteJust come back from working Gateshead show, so too tired to paint. Maybe I'll do some tomorrow... But knowing me, I won't :))
Thank you Roy. Hope you had a good time at the show. nearly finished the first 6 dark age figures... just the bases to go.
DeleteLegs are aching a touch, today. But other than that everything went okay (just the one minor cock-up on the till, needing Stu to work out what I'd pressed wrong). Some't must have worked for me though, inspiration-wise, as I was still painting a figure at 11pm, last night. And have finished it today.
DeleteThan is brilliant. well done.
DeleteGreat stuff! Looking forward to seeing those Dark Age warriors with some paint on them :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Andy. I should have the first unit ready to show mid week. Modesty aside I think they look pretty good at the moment. But what will they look like tomorrow I natural light I wonder.
DeleteNice one Clint.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ray. I just knew you would like the aeronef. (JK). There will be some historical in the week. As I have just stuck the turfts on the bases.
DeleteNice work on the components for your airfleet. Gripping beast I have bought few times from them and always had top service.
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon. The service from Gripping Beast was top notch, I must say. I do find the poses a tad limiting as I am sure many do. However every pose I do not like I am sure another player is crying out for more of that pose. So they cannot win someone will always be disappointed.
DeleteGood to see your enthusiasm at such a high. The German 'ships' look very serviceable.
ReplyDeleteWhilst I do like the plastic figures I hate having to put them (glue) together.
Thank you Joe. Expect another aeronef fleet to appear soon. (I will be painting one for matt). As for the Plastics I have now finished 6 of them. So expect to see a small unit any day.
